If Shelly Radler had the ability to travel back in time, she would impart upon her younger self how vitally important it is to build relationships, within her own team and across the entire Brother International organization. In hindsight, Radler feels as if she overly focused on completing assignments and delivering results, which in itself is not the worst path to follow.
As she approaches 25 years of service with Brother, Radler’s discovered that team building, networking, and making meaningful connections are equally valuable investments. But in assessing her journey to becoming senior manager of product management, it’s clear that relationships have played an essential role in the success she’s enjoyed. Paying it forward is foremost on her mind.
“Mentoring my team and other junior colleagues brings me joy,” said Radler, a 2026 ENX Magazine Difference Maker. “I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned, helping others grow, celebrating their successes and seeing them build confidence in their roles.”
Power Trio
She cites three members of Brother’s leadership team with leaving an indelible impression on her own craft. There’s Don Cummins, who led the business machine division’s marketing department and challenged Radler to expand upon her decision-making skills. He encouraged her to cultivate three options when sharing recommendations, and explain her reasoning behind the chosen route.
“His probing questions taught me to consider broader perspectives, think critically, and make better-informed decisions,” Radler noted.
Another influencer was Fernando Marionene, her former manager who now leads Brother’s go-to-market strategies for B2B business segments. Marionene advised her to be mindful of her audience and to hone her storytelling skills. It’s enabled her to approach presentations with greater intention and focus on making the message meaningful and relevant.
Professional Swagger
Speaking of presentations, it was Dan Waldinger, former director of B2B marketing, who provided a shining example through his engaging delivery, passion, and compelling vision. During a Brother national sales conference a few years back, Radler was struck by how “confidently he used the stage and connected with the audience.” It inspired her to raise her own presentation game.
“The following year, I stepped away from the podium and delivered a more dynamic, impactful presentation,” she said.
A Cornell University graduate, Radler is much more than the sum of her influences and has left a unique signature on product marketing. She has a reputation for guiding programs from end to end, cultivating go-to-market plans that are clear, structured and impactful. But marketing is not an island unto itself, and Radler ensures her team’s efforts directly support partner and sales success. It’s that leadership, as Maroniene observed, that inspires confidence in every team in which she interacts.
Team Player
Even with her personal success, Radler is the quintessential team player. She’s an ardent fan of the company hosted events and credits them with helping to bring the company closer to its partners. The annual Napa Partner Conference and the Rolling Thunder dealer events have helped underscore the company’s commitment to the future and expanding its perception beyond being merely a consumer printer brand.

“Looking back, I never imagined I would spend more than 24 years in the imaging industry, but the people, partnerships, and opportunity to experience an evolving market have made it a rewarding career,” she remarked.
Moving forward, Radler’s keen to become increasingly proficient at leveraging AI to streamline my day-to-day work and improve productivity. The AI training sessions and workshops have inspired her to devise ways to “incorporate AI more intentionally into my work.”
On the home front, Radler and her husband, Glenn, have been married for 25 years and they have two sons, Elliot and Ethan, not to mention Graham, their beloved golden doodle dog. Sun, sand and water play a big role in their spare time, from boating at the Jersey Shore to vacationing in the Bahamas. She’s also active within her community with the Kiwanis Club of Livingston, serving as a board member and chair of the Sponsored Youth committee. She’s passionate about environmental issues and conservation, having volunteered for the Clean Ocean Action and the Great Swamp cleanups.
