Making Memories a Rewarding Endeavor for Konica Minolta Difference Maker Kristen Zaccardi Ruppert

Being a maker of memories is no small feat for Kristen Zaccardi Ruppert. As the corporate events manager for Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., it falls upon her to design an experience that, while transient in nature, nonetheless leaves a lasting impression. Fair or not, that experience shapes the opinion of the OEM held by dealers and other partners.

In some scenarios, Ruppert doesn’t have to wait for post-event feedback—verbal and non-verbal cues can be just as effective as surveys. One recent example drove home that notion: prior to an incentive trip, she wanted to craft a grand entrance for the first evening of the event. The idea was to deliver on a “wow” moment that would resonate with attendees. The feedback was instantaneous.

“As the doors opened, I heard an audible gasp from the attendees. That reaction was everything,” said Ruppert, a 2025 ENX Magazine Difference Maker. “It was a powerful reminder that the smallest details, the atmosphere, and the emotional impact of an experience truly matter.”

She’s driven to craft experiences that exceed expectations and set the stage for networking and business conversations. Smiles on the faces of attendees provide confirmation that she hit the mark and adds further fuel to reach new heights through creativity.

Determination and passion were instilled in Ruppert from a young age, a product of her lifelong dedication to gymnastics. That mindset is on full display in her work.

“What makes me an impact player is my ability to lead with intention, empathy, and a clear understanding of our business goals,” she said. “Designing strategic experiences that reflect our brand, strengthen relationships, and deliver real value is a goal I continuously strive for.

“It’s important to understand our audience, tailor every detail to their needs, and ensure every touchpoint—from planning to post-event debriefs—drives impact. Being recognized as a Difference Maker was a humbling reminder that when you lead with purpose and heart, you can make a lasting impact.”

Passion for Fashion

Event planning wasn’t the long-term goal when Ruppert attended LIM College, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the nation. In fact, she interned for major houses like Vera Wang and Tommy Hilfiger. But Ruppert began her career with J.P. Morgan, where she handled C-suite executive events. Once she landed at Konica Minolta, it became evident she’d discovered her professional calling.

One of her biggest Konica Minolta influences is Michael Mathé, the company’s COO. It was Mathé who challenged Ruppert to step beyond her comfort zone, particularly in terms of creativity. Every detail matters, he advised, and thoughtful execution is what can distinguish Konica Minolta in a broad field.

“He’s also taught me that what truly differentiates our event experiences is the intentionality behind every phase—from pre-planning to post-event debriefs,” she said. “He often reminds us, ‘The last experience our attendees have is what they’ll remember most.’ That insight has shaped how I prioritize every moment, especially when navigating challenges. It’s about creating lasting impressions, even in the face of adversity.”

As a behind-the-curtain designer of unforgettable experiences, she is also tasked with creating a platform for Konica Minolta executives to express gratitude to partners and celebrate their dedication to the brand. Excellence, she said, is always the expectation.

“You don’t do it for the recognition—you do it because you’re driven to create moments that matter,” Ruppert noted. “But when I learned I had received [Difference Maker recognition], I felt deeply grateful. It was a powerful reminder that passion and dedication matters.”

Lasting Impact

Increasingly stepping outside of her comfort zone is important to Ruppert to augment the Konica Minolta brand via memorable experiences. The idea is to not just stand out from the OEM crowd, but also leave an indelible mark on clients. With client partners needing to carve out valuable time to attend their events, she’s charged with making it a worthwhile experience, one that delivers impact.

Constant improvement ranks high on her list. Ruppert seeks to emerge with something of value from each event and incorporate it into future planning.

“Constructive feedback is never taken lightly—it’s a tool I use to continuously elevate the attendee experience,” she said. “And in the midst of the inevitable chaos that comes with live events, I’ve learned that patience is one of the most powerful skills you can practice. Which I am still heavily practicing.”

On the personal front, she’s a newlywed who exchanged vows on the Eastern Shore of Maryland—it’s a special place where her husband grew up, and it holds deep meaning for them (including their dog, Luna). In fact, Ruppert treasures the sand and water. She became an ardent collector of seashells and sea glass a few years ago and she’s at her happiest seeking treasure while her husband surfs and Luna chases waves.

Ruppert is a trustee of the Steven Strobert Foundation, created in memory of her cousin and godfather, who was a victim of the 9/11 attacks. The foundation is dedicated to supporting youth through education, athletics and initiatives that improve quality of life.

Quite simply, family is everything to her. “I’ve been fortunate to learn from three incredibly influential people in my life—my mom, grandfather, and stepfather—all of whom have achieved great success in their careers,” she said. “From them, I’ve learned the value of hard work, dedication and the importance of putting passion into everything you do.”
