Bay Copy President Ray Belanger, Presents at Select Dealer Group Meeting in Seattle

Rockland, MA, and Seattle, WA (November 22, 2016) — Ray Belanger, president of Bay Copy, and a resident of Norwell, MA was a presenter at the recent meeting of the Select Dealer Group held in Seattle, WA.

Belanger, a founding member of this national trade organization, met with several dozen fellow office equipment/technology solutions providers from across the country to discuss a variety of issues specific to the industry and to share best practices with fellow dealers. The Select Dealer Group meets three times a year in different locations throughout the United States. This meeting was held at The Inn at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, and included a robust two-day agenda. The program was hosted by SDG member Kelly Imaging, a provider of office technology products, mailing equipment, software solutions, managed print services and managed IT services in the Pacific Northwest.

Belanger’s talk was part of the “Great Idea Presentations” segment of the program. Other topics centered on industry best practices and current trends in technology. Updates were also given on all the major manufactures in the industry.

Bay Copy was also represented by Dave Newton, Director of Technical Services for Bay Copy, and a resident of Plymouth, MA. In addition to dealership owners, the SDG meeting included a special breakout session for top service leaders. Dave Newton was a key participant in the service discussions, particularly in the area of Managed Print Services.

In addition to the program, the SDG visitors had the chance to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. The Washington State native has led the way in developing glass as a fine art; his work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide. He has been the recipient of many awards, including twelve honorary doctorates and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Belanger, who is the former President of SDG, said that he has seen SDG grow and develop into a nationally recognized industry leader. He said that one of the key advantages of an organization such as SDG is that the office equipment dealers can talk with others in their industry and gain, as well as provide, insight in a non-competitive atmosphere. “Business owners can benefit from advice from someone in their industry, who is not a market competitor, and who understands the industry,” he said.
