Applied Imaging Purchases New Building to Accommodate Recent and Projected Growth

(Grand Rapids, MI) January 12, 2016 — Applied Imaging, Michigan’s premier office technology dealer, recently purchased a new 63,000 square foot building and plans to fully occupy it by July 1, 2016. The new facility is located at 5555 Glenwood Hills Parkway SE in Grand Rapids, MI and its close proximity to the 28th St. intersection with I-94, provides convenient freeway access for visiting customers and Applied Imaging’s employees.

According to Applied Imaging’s founder and president, John Lowery, a new headquarters facility was required due to the number of employees that have already been added and the anticipation of more being added due to consistent double digit annual growth and Applied Imaging’s additional product and service offerings.

“Our growth throughout Michigan both organically and through strategic acquisitions has our current space at full capacity,” said Lowery discussing the 5282 East Paris St. building Applied Imaging has occupied since 1999. “Plus our managed network services program requires additional personnel supported by several sophisticated technology upgrades to keep up with the demand we’re experiencing for local network support.”

Applied Imaging’s Customer Loyalty Center, which includes service dispatch and is currently offsite, will be housed in the new building along with expanded customer-centric showrooms, larger conference room areas and more loading dock space to accommodate delivery and shipment of the larger copier/printers Applied Imaging now represents.

Lowery founded Applied Imaging in 1987. From its roots in Grand Rapids, the company has grown to have 248 employees and offices in Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City, Petoskey, Metropolitan Detroit (Novi), which was established in 2011, and most recently, Ann Arbor. Applied Imaging’s business includes the sales and service of copiers, printers, document storage and retrieval products, managed network services and software solutions that help customers be more productive and efficient when it comes to document workflow. Manufacturers represented by Applied Imaging include Ricoh, Canon, Kyocera, Océ, Samsung, OnBase, Microsoft, and more.
