Irvine, CA: Toshiba President & CEO, Scott Maccabe to Deliver Keynote at Business Technology Association Event in Baltimore

Toshiba’s Top Executive to Discuss Strategies for Increasing Dealer Revenue

IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2014)—Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Scott Maccabe is slated to deliver the keynote address at the Business Technology Association’s (BTA) East’s Annual Grand Slam event on Sept. 15 in Baltimore. The educational and networking event – which takes place at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards – is open to independent office equipment dealers throughout the country.

Toshiba’s top executive will discuss how office equipment dealers may continue to prosper in light of lower print volumes by leveraging “the new aftermarket.” During his hour-long presentation, Mr. Maccabe will address ways for resellers to enhance revenues and profits by providing such content management services as digital signage, document capture, workflow and security applications.

“For many years, multifunction product (MFP) resellers have relied on rising page volumes and click revenues to provide the foundation of growth for their businesses,” Maccabe noted. “Dealers may counter this new reality and attain success by now offering digital signage to foster customers’ sales and marketing efforts while also integrating partner network solutions to significantly improve end user workflow, document capture and data security.”

“In recent years, with the goal of providing office technology dealers with valuable insight and guidance, BTA has invited a number of industry leaders from within the MFP manufacturing community to serve as the keynote speakers at the association’s district events,” said BTA Executive Director Brent Hoskins. “Continuing with this tradition, we are very pleased that Toshiba’s Scott Maccabe has accepted our invitation to present at the seventh annual BTA East Grand Slam event. We are grateful for Toshiba’s support of the BTA East event. Certainly, Mr. Maccabe’s participation, along with the company’s many years as a BTA Vendor Associate member, demonstrates Toshiba’s strong commitment to the dealer channel.”

The primary purpose of the BTA event is to provide attendees with the insight, guidance and tools they require to help ensure their dealership remains a premier resource for office technology and services. Aside from Mr. Maccabe’s keynote presentation, the event includes five additional educational sessions, a dealer panel surrounding diversification strategies and a manufacturer panel on navigating a changing office landscape.
