Kyocera Names José María Estébanez as Vice President of Corporate Marketing as Organization Gears up Transformation

Fairfield, NJ (Nov. 19, 2020) — The transformation of Kyocera Document Solutions America Inc. has taken its latest step as José María Estébanez has been appointed as vice president of corporate marketing. It continues the plans of President and CEO Óscar Sánchez as he brings in new talent and experience to his leadership team to head up the organization through this period of innovation.

José María Estébanez, Kyocera

Estébanez was appointed as senior director of integrated marketing communications in September 2019, after working with Kyocera’s European division to renovate their marketing efforts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With previous experience at Deloitte, he brought an impressive resumé and has made a real impact in his first year at the company which has led to the internal appointment.

Since joining Kyocera at their Fairfield, New Jersey, headquarters, he has overseen fundamental projects such as implementing a new way of working within the Marketing team, applying an agile approach to integrate technology, processes and people to obtain the very best results from the talented team in the headquarters. This has led to significant achievements, including the development of Kyocera’s new Partnership Program for Kyocera’s dealers, launched earlier this year, as well as the launch of the new company website and dealer portal. This has complemented the implementation of digital technologies to run and optimize campaigns such as a marketing automation platform.

Estébanez also worked closely with the company’s leadership team to prepare Kyocera’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating communications at both an internal and external level. This communication with partners and employees was a key part of Kyocera’s efforts in early 2020.

“Over the past year, José has stepped up in a very remarkable way, in a difficult situation for the company. His professional trajectory, international and diverse experience, knowledge about Kyocera, commitment and identification with our core values, and his achievements in the last year, were very obvious to the selection committee that José is the best person for this role,” explained Sánchez.

“As vice president of corporate marketing, Jose will strategically develop and lead the marketing organization’s overall capability within the U.S., including product marketing, channel management, e-commerce, sales and marketing technologies and campaigns to drive positive brand equity and awareness.”

The appointment is a landmark moment for Estébanez in his career, beginning a new chapter in his time with Kyocera, where he was worked across four continents in positioning the company as one of the leaders of the document solutions industry.

“It is an honor and a source of immense pride to be named in this position, and there could be no better way to celebrate my fifth year with Kyocera,” explained Estébanez. “Now is not a time for any organization to stand still, and under the direction of our leadership team, it is clear that Kyocera will lead the way in defining the new normal. Corporate marketing will form a critical pillar in this project and it’s up to our team to position ourselves as the best marketing team in the industry.”

Estébanez will join an already experienced and expert team, following the recent appointments of Natalie Cumberbatch as vice president of human resources, Frank Zupa as vice president of customer operations and Kurt Brown as vice president of software and ICT services. These diverse profiles combine experience at some of the world’s biggest companies, such as Verizon, and industry experts, like Dimension Data, with decades of dedication to the Kyocera cause to give Sánchez a strong support team to take on ambitious plans for further growth.
