Glossop Cartons First Again With Installation of Highcon Beam

Glossop Cartons has just installed the world’s first Highcon Beam digital cutting and creasing machine which is currently being beta tested at the company’s new Stockport premises.

The Highcon Beam is the next generation model of Highcon’s digital cutting and creasing solution and has been specifically designed to offer enhanced production capabilities, faster speeds, improved software and incredible finishing capabilities for mainstream carton and commercial markets.

Based on their successful experience with the Highcon Euclid, Glossop Cartons was quick to see the benefits of the Highcon Beam and to add to their digital lineup. As the only carton printer in the world currently able offer this digital finishing technology, Glossop Cartons has begun to test this state-of-the-art innovation machine which is being launched officially at Drupa in May.

Designed as a finishing machine for mainstream production and running alongside the company’s existing Highcon Euclid , Bobst and Iberica cutting and creasing machines, the Highcon Beam will eliminate costly production cutting formes, reduce make ready times and run B1 sheets at a staggering maximum speed of 5,000 sheets per hour.

The machine can handle a wide range of substrates, including 2mm E-flute corrugated board and its cutting section features three high powered lasers, enabling the machine to process substrates at much higher speeds than ever before.
