DocuWare Promotes its Head of R&D Dr. Michael Berger Named as Chief Technology Officer

New Windsor NY, March 4, 2016 – ECM specialist DocuWare recently appointed Dr. Michael Berger as its Chief Technology Officer. The Board and leadership team of the company are thereby recognizing his outstanding achievements and leadership skills.

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the DocuWare Group, Dr. Michael Berger will continue to lead the company’s development strategy. Dr. Berger is a strong proponent of cloud-based document management, which helps inform his development choices for the software.

After serving in senior positions within Siemens AG, Dr. Berger became DocuWare’s Vice President Research & Development in 2008 which was exactly when the ECM specialist was investing in the groundbreaking architecture that laid the foundation for DocuWare Web Client and its leadership in web-based document management. Berger drove the innovations and further modernized the company’s development approach. Since May 2013, he has been responsible for the company’s worldwide Technology Department which includes the areas of Product, Research & Development, QA and IT Operations. He was promoted to Chief Technology Officer at the beginning of 2016.
