Formax Introduces Two New Air-Feed Folders

Dover, NH, November 2015 – Formax is pleased to introduce the Atlas and Atlas-AS to its comprehensive line of document folders. The Atlas and Atlas-AS are easy to use, rugged air-feed folders that maximize output while occupying a small footprint.

Each folder offers variable speed control, fully-enclosed fold plates and LED displays for accurate fold plate positioning. Fold rollers are made of a durable composite material, designed to easily grip high-gloss paper, and are housed in a single patented pull-out cassette.

The powerful air suction feed table handles a wide variety of coated or non-coated stock, up to 25.5” in length. A special suction chamber also helps to control curled or statically-charged paper. The Atlas processes up to 27,000 sheets per hour and is pre-set with 6 common folds in letter, legal and ledger sizes, while the Atlas-AS processes up to 27,500 and can store an unlimited number of jobs. The Atlas-AS also includes a 7” full-color touchscreen control panel with easy-to-use icons for programming.

Standard features on each model include a belt-driven outfeed stacker located on the same side as the infeed, which allows operators to easily operate the folder from a single position, and a modular perforator/scorer which can also be used as a roller bypass, allowing cover stock to be folded and output flat. Double document and jam detection, batch counting, skew/micro adjustments, and anti-static brushes round out the user-friendly design.

The Formax Atlas and Atlas-AS Air-Feed Folders are ideal for those with high-capacity folding needs and limited space.
