M&A Roundup: GoodSuite, Kelley Connect, Novatech, WiZiX, AD Solutions and EDGE Pull Off Deals

If the old wives’ tale that bad things usually happen “in threes” has any merit, we’ll build upon this unfounded superstition with this week’s M&A roundup that saw six prominent dealers—GoodSuite, Kelley Connect, Novatech, WiZiX Technology Group, AD Solutions and EDGE Business Systems—pull off acquisitions.

So, do dealer transactions (a good thing) tend to happen in groups of six? Sure, if you wait long enough to count them. Seriously, though, we admit that six in one week is a bit out of the ordinary. But there’s merit to some of those superstitions. So as you read the details of these transactions, try not to get too close to your computer or hand-held device…after all, you could go blind.

GoodSuite, a premier provider of critical and managed business systems, announced it has acquired Amerimac Office Products, a Los Angeles-area provider of enterprise-level managed print services serving Lancaster, Palmdale and surrounding regions. The acquisition expands GoodSuite’s range of managed IT and print services to a broader customer base throughout the Los Angeles region.

GoodSuite is a leading MSP (managed services provider), offering a wide range of IT, VoIP, backup and disaster recovery, conferencing and other critical business services in addition to its core print services offerings. Founded in 1978, Amerimac is an established managed print services provider in the Southern California region.

GoodSuite and Amerimac share a similar business trajectory and history, making the acquisition and client base expansion a natural fit. Like GoodSuite, Amerimac started as a family-owned business, providing copier and printing services for businesses in the Southern California area. Over its 45-year history, the company’s managed print services client base grew to include a number of local businesses — car dealerships, school districts, large medical offices, and sports organizations, to name a few. Also, like GoodSuite, Amerimac has a long history of supporting social causes and non-profit organizations.

Dan Strull, GoodSuite

“The Amerimac acquisition aligns with our strategic vision to grow our business in ways that broaden the range of services we offer while expanding our footprint in the geographical areas we service,” said Dan Strull, GoodSuite CEO. “In addition to the increased client base the Amerimac acquisition brings, we’re excited to now offer a more extensive range of printing solutions for all of our clients. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, we’re excited to continue expanding GoodSuite’s business and client base through strategic acquisitions and continued organic growth.”

Kelley Connect-Oasys

Kelley Connect is continuing to deepen its bench of technology offerings with the recent acquisition of Oasys, a Burlington, Washington, company. It’s the second acquisition in Northwest Washington in the past six months as Kelley continues to expand their footprint across the Pacific Northwest.

Kelley CEO Aric Manion said the Oasys acquisition represents a further commitment to its customer base with an additional set of technology solutions for small- to mid-sized businesses.

Aric Manion, Kelley Connect

“The merger with Oasys Imaging and Oasys TECH is strategic for Kelley Connect,” said Manion. “We’re focused on making sure we have head-to-toe solutions for the massively expanding mid-sized business base. People are returning to offices, and many of those offices are only getting bigger.”

The Oasys group represented specific technology expertise and already has an executive team in place.

“When we do these mergers, our focus is on keeping and expanding the team the company already has in place,” continued Manion. “We’re not buying a building; we’re merging our teams.”

Oasys CEP Troy Wright echoed Manion’s sentiment. “When Angie and I made the decision a couple of years ago to develop an exit strategy, we lined out what was important to us,” said Wright. “First, not only make sure our clients continue to receive the level of support they are accustomed to from Oasys but offer them a greater depth and breadth of services. And secondly, provide our employees equal to or better opportunities for their careers. Kelley Connect hit those boxes and then some.”

Manion said one of the most attractive aspects of these technology mergers is the scalability of their services.

“This addition doesn’t just give us a presence in Burlington, it gives each of our locations access to the technology and services that office delivers,” Manion said. “We’re growing exponentially because a single office addition means more resources for every other location.”
