National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic Welcomes Konica Minolta as Title Sponsor of the Premiere Amateur Golf Event for Charity

New York, NY (April 11, 2017) – National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is proud to announce that Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), has partnered with the NKF Golf Classic to become the title sponsor of the prestigious 30+ event series culminating at the Pebble Beach Resorts – now named the NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic. It is The Premiere Amateur Golf Event for Charity, raising more than $3.5 million each year and exceeding $100 million to date to promote kidney health and accelerate change for the 26 million Americans who have kidney disease.

NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic events are held at some of the most prestigious venues in major cities across the country and serve as a grassroots complement to Konica Minolta’s already-extensive golf and sports sponsorships in the U.S., which include the PGA Tour, and strategic MLB, NBA, MLS and NHL teams. The NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic partnership provides Konica Minolta with additional opportunities to partner with its customers and dealers across the U.S., while also supporting its corporate social responsibility, charity, community, and health/wellness objectives.

“Joining with Konica Minolta for this signature series is an ideal way to continue to pursue our shared goals,” said Kevin Longino, National Kidney Foundation CEO and a kidney transplant recipient. “We look forward to combining our resources to increase support for and awareness of kidney disease.”

Konica Minolta has a genuine passion for NKF’s work, as the company’s President and CEO, Rick Taylor, is a kidney cancer survivor “I’m excited to partner with an organization whose mission is very personal to me,” said Taylor. “Tournaments like these help benefit those who need it the most. Together we’re helping to make a difference and working for a great cause.”

Successful since it was founded in 1987, the NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic features 30+ tournaments across the U.S. each year from March to December. Top venues include Westchester Country Club, Firestone Country Club, Boston Golf Club and East Lake Golf Club. The series culminates at the NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic National Finals at Pebble Beach, January 18-21, 2018, with top finishing teams from each local event invited to compete in a 54-hole national championship at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, the Links at Spanish Bay and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
