Sharp to Showcase New Solutions at Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Annual Conference

Montvale, NJ (February 16, 2017) — Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation will be participating at the 2017 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, FL within long standing Sharp Partner Program member RF IDeas’ Booth (#443).

The HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition is a showcase for the newest technology trends and solutions in health IT. Bringing together more than 40,000 healthcare IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world, HIMSS is the largest health IT event in the industry. Sharp will be showcasing integrated technology that helps ensure healthcare providers can meet HIPPA compliance.

Sharp and RF IDeas provide a solution that enables users to authenticate at a multifunction printer (MFP) by swiping their ID badges, which then gives them access to print/scan/copy capability, network resources and shared folders they are authorized to access.

Sharp’s award-winning MFPs provide one of the most comprehensive MFP network and data security suites. This security is further enhanced when paired with print release software that helps safeguard printed, confidential healthcare information, and tracks and manages print and scan jobs, such as Sharp’s Kayleigh job accounting software.

Kayleigh helps healthcare organizations manage print security through print release and activity monitoring. In addition, Kayleigh helps track and monitor all input and output activities to prevent unauthorized access and usage on Sharp MFPs.

The Sharp MX-C301W Desktop Workgroup MFP will also be on display during HIMSS. It provides powerful functionality in a compact footprint and is a great solution for nurse’s stations, doctor’s offices, reception areas and more.

Finally, Sharp will be highlighting its certifications and compatibility with leading healthcare Electronic Health Record (EHR) providers, such as Cerner Millennium and McKesson Star 2000. Certification helps to guarantee the interoperability of Sharp printers and MFPs with leading EHR systems.

“This is the fourth year we’ve participated at HIMSS with RF IDeas, our long-standing Sharp Partner Program Member,” said Vince Jannelli, associate vice president of software product management, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “We look forward to the opportunity to once again meet face to face with healthcare professionals, to learn about their needs and discuss how Sharp can help meet those needs.”

Stop by the RF IDeas booth #443 from February 20─22 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando to learn more about Sharp’s technologies and solutions for the healthcare industry.
