Print Tracker Improves Supply Management with “Skip Alert” Feature

Dateline – Boise, Idaho, USA

Print Tracker is proud to announce its latest enhancement for supply management by providing dealers the ability to skip toner alert notifications.

“Supply Fulfillment is a fundamental building block for dealers and value added resellers offering managed print services (MPS) to their clients,” said Print Tracker Sales and Marketing Director Brian Dawson. “Often, and especially in larger fleets where many of the same device models are in use, there may be a safety stock of replacement cartridges already on location.

“The ‘Skip Alerts’ function provides dealers a good way to manage alerts and supply shipments. The ability to skip a triggered alert simply helps keep fulfillment costs low by eliminating unnecessary supply shipments,” added Dawson.

Activating Print Tracker’s Skip Alert feature enables dealers to enter the number of cartridges available in the customer’s safety stock. When an alert is triggered, Print Tracker automatically checks if the alert should be skipped. If so, a status note such as “Black toner level <= 25 SKIPPED” is added in the device’s alert log along with a “Last Skipped Date” to provide indication the triggered alert has been processed.

The feature can also be used when customers call the dealer, asking them to not ship a supply because of stock on hand. In addition, dealers no longer need to have their technicians configure devices to notify when supplies are truly needed.

The “Skip Alert” enhancement adds to Print Tracker’s already impressive array of alerting ability. Dealers can:

• Set fleet alerts at levels they desire;
• Set specific device alerting at levels different from the main fleet;
• Route supply and service alerts to separate and specific addresses;
• Get notification of premature cartridge replacement (PCR) when supplies are changed before thresholds are met;
• Receive notification of excessive toner use; and
• Enable volume alerting for devices that do not report accurate toner levels.

Print Tracker continues to provide dealers and IT departments with a modular approach to their MPS programs. Print Tracker encourages its clients to invest in only the features needed for the MPS program they choose to offer. Modules such as the “Skip Alerts” feature can be bundled to provide significant savings or added piecemeal as their managed print program develops and MPS demand increases.
