WestFax Announces Landmark Integration with PaperCut

Barry Clark, WestFax

Software integrations can often be game-changers when forging a partnership with a well-known and ubiquitous player. In the case of WestFax and its secure cloud fax solution, the ability to integrate with PaperCut MF—one of the leading print management platforms on the market—poises the Greenwood Village, Colorado-based firm to gain significant momentum.

According to WestFax President and Founder Barry Clark, it’s the first time a third-party fax provider has worked with PaperCut’s Developer Relations team to create a custom plug-in for the PaperCut MF platform. The project has been in development for approximately six months and is available now.

“WestFax is excited to offer this new integration option with PaperCut,” Clark said. “Our customers can now enjoy the ease of integration PaperCut offers with the WestFax world-class TDM fax platform.”

Clark notes that many of his firm’s Xerox partners (WestFax is a preferred vendor) take advantage of PaperCut MF through the Xerox App Gallery. Many of these partners expressed to Clark the desire to have a WestFax-PaperCut MF integration.

“We contacted PaperCut and worked closely with them to find some of the integration pain points, and we helped eliminate those to make it a really slick integration for secure cloud faxing,” Clark noted.

Now, any customer already using or looking to use WestFax or PaperCut MF have a simplified, secure way to integrate printing and faxing workflows.

“It was great to partner with the WestFax development team and help them develop this integration,” says Alec Clews, senior developer relations advocate at PaperCut. “A big thank you to WestFax for their invaluable feedback that enabled us to create a much better developer experience.”

Clark points out that PaperCut’s mission for print management focuses on reducing the print volumes dovetails nicely with WestFax’s environmental mission impact, as secure cloud faxing plays a significant role in reducing paper usage. The company is currently working on future integrations, primarily in the area of electronic health records management.

While WestFax has integrations with virtually every MFP device manufacturer on the U.S. market, he’s bullish on the exposure that the PaperCut partnership will provide.

“Obviously, we love that our secure cloud fax solution is now exposed within the PaperCut ecosystem,” Clark said. “I think that will be great for business and generating new customers.”
