What’s Hot & What’s Not?

This week John Kuchta, president of SolutionOne in Omaha, NE shares what’s hot & what’s not in his market. SolutionOne is primarily a Canon and Konica Minolta dealer.

What’s hot?

Kuchta: From a solutions perspective we are finding great customer acceptance of a PDF tool that from Nuance, PDF Office Pro. It’s basically a desktop appliance that customers are buying to convert PDFs on the fly to different types of documents so they can edit them and repurpose them. That’s gained tremendous acceptance in the last six months and customers are flocking to that product.

What’s not?

Kuchta: Segment 1 A3 sales are almost nil for us. Customers are now buying A4 products or other devices to perform those output functions. Customers aren’t replacing [their Segment 1 A3 devices]. They’re either migrating that volume to a bigger device or to printers.
