Between the Lines: Trending this Week

I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions, especially since most resolutions are often forgotten by the time February rolls around. But I am one for predictions and gazing into the crystal ball and predicting what’s next. Except I’m not making any predictions, I’m leaving that to those who know a lot more about their businesses and the industry than I ever will.

Throughout the month of January I’ll be running 3-4 trends pieces each week. I’ve asked various individuals and key players in the imaging and office technology industry to provide comments on what they view as the most significant trends that will drive their businesses and the imaging and office technology industry in 2012, the challenges they expect to experience over the next 12 months, and what they have planned to help their customers be successful in 2012. It’s a nice cross-section of the industry, and as with my 52 Highlights in December, not everyone I asked to participate took me up on the offer, but those that did should give you something to think about. Our first four commentators are particularly interesting as they focus on four key areas within the industry—hiring, protecting your customer base, MPS, and document management.

New content this week includes:

  • Hiring Ground by Paul Schwartz of Copier Careers
  • Protecting Your Base by Jim D’Emidio of Muratec
  • An Industry Transformation by Ed Crowley of Photizo Group
  • Streamlining Business Processes by Thomas Schneck of DocuWare AG
  • A new Sales Pitch by David Ramos
  • January News Bytes
