Rapid Growth Moves Square 9 to New Location, Continued Commitment to Community Outreach

Square 9 Softworks Set to Retain its Roots in “The Elm City”

NEW HAVEN, CONN., April 16, 2015 – Square 9 Softworks, the leader in Enterprise Content Management software solutions, today unveiled plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to an expanded New Haven location, tripling its current size to accommodate the company’s exponential growth. With this move, Square 9 appropriately marks its ninth year in business – all in downtown New Haven, CT.

On July 1, 2015, Square 9 will be the lead tenant in downtown New Haven’s historic Exchange Place building, which was built in 1832 and renovated in 2003. As an example of Greek revival architecture, the 30,000 square foot space is centered around a rooftop atrium flooding the office with natural light that blends a unique 19th century feel with the look of a 21st century technology company. Located at 127 Church Street, Square 9’s new corporate headquarters will accommodate at least 125 staff members.

Square 9’s decision to stay in New Haven further demonstrates its commitment to developing a strong technology community that will help the city to realize its objective as a center for innovation. Working collaboratively with Matt Nemerson, New Haven’s Economic Development Administrator and Paul Denz of Northside Development Corp., Square 9 was able to secure it’s future in the region for the foreseeable future.

Originating in New Haven’s historic Ninth Square District, Square 9’s exceptional growth has contributed to a rising and vibrant tech culture in “The Elm City.” With 865% growth over a five year period, last year Square 9 was ranked the No. 1 fastest-growing software company in Connecticut by the CT Technology Counsel. Square 9 was also named the No. 1 fastest-growing inner city software company in America by the Inner City 100, a program recognizing successful urban businesses as role models for entrepreneurship, innovative business practices and job creation.

“We’re excited to keep our roots in downtown New Haven,” stated Stephen Young, President and CEO of Square 9 Softworks. “I believe our commitment to building our business in a culturally rich and diverse community like New Haven, has greatly contributed to the strength of our organization and the quality of the talent we have working here.”

Square 9 actively recruits local college and university graduates through a program it designed to develop and retain technology professionals within Connecticut. Additionally, Square 9 is working to develop support for the local student community through the creation of inner-city scholarships while encouraging participation in its business intern program.

Square 9 is headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut with regional offices in Indianapolis, Indiana and Irvine, California.
