Independent Stationers Reports Positive Q1 2015 Sales Growth

Indianapolis, IN, April 21, 2015—Independent Stationers, the industry’s most progressive independent dealer group, announced positive growth in many of its member programs for Q1 2015. Building upon its outstanding growth in 2014, Direct Buy purchases increased 23.7%, the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) sales increased 3% and Office Furniture increased significantly at 35.4%, all over the same period in 2014. All of these sales category increases yield a significant increase in rebates to participating shareholders and affiliates.

Independent Stationers’ membership grew in the first quarter with the addition of 8 new shareholders and affiliates. In addition, Independent Stationers added several new suppliers in the expanded product categories of educational furniture, FMI, personal care, as well as cleaning and protection products. Independent Stationers members are enjoying growth selling to the federal government and also experiencing continued traction through the many commercial, public sector and school supply contracts the group holds.

Bryan Kristenson, Chairman of Independent Stationers said, “We work continually to provide new and diverse programs and strive to build inclusive programs with real value for members and affiliates of varied sizes and diverse needs. Our continued growth through the first quarter is a solid indicator that we are providing value added programs and benefits that meet the many needs of the IDC.”
