Pandemic Can’t Stop Bike for Hope Cancer Research Fundraiser

While COVID-19 has dominated headlines in addition to our everyday lives, it is unfortunate that none of the biggest health threats in the world, including cancer, are taking a holiday.

In fact, the American Cancer Society notes that approximately 600,000 Americans die from the disease each year. Thus, while much energy is being directed at devising a vaccine for COVID-19 (and rightly so), the need to help fund our nation’s cancer research facilities is greater than ever.

Bill Erpelding, director of marketing for Distribution Management | Supplies Network, shared that the Bike for Hope fundraiser to support the City of Hope cancer research facility is continuing, and he is seeking our support. Here’s what he had to say:

Bill Erpelding, Supplies Network

It goes without saying these are difficult times and despite with everything going, cancer still plaques us. Most all of us have experienced the loss of a family member, loved one or friend to cancer at some point in our lives. It is for this reason we have decided to continue pushing forward with our Bike for Hope event this year, albeit virtually starting Aug. 24.

It is with great gratitude for your past support, that I again am asking you to contribute to our Bike for Hope 2020 event benefitting the lifesaving cancer research done at City of Hope. Given all of the challenges we currently all face, my ask is simply for a small donation to this year’s event. No donation is too small and any small contribution is very appreciated.

Just a few reasons to support City of Hope:

  • Numerous breakthrough cancer drugs (Herceptin, Erbitux, Rituxan, Avastin) were pioneered by City of Hope and are saving lives worldwide.
  • Nearly 30 new drugs are in the development pipeline at almost any given time.
  • Founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, meaning their research and treatment protocols advance care nationwide.
  • Earned the highest rating from national leading watchdog, Charity Navigator.
  • Millions of people with diabetes benefit from synthetic human insulin, developed through COH research.

Again, no amount is too small! We all get asked to support many causes throughout the year, so please know any amount is greatly appreciated.

On behalf of all of us at DM|Supplies Network, thank you again for your consideration and support.
