Between the Lines: A Cure for the Summertime Blues

I went to see the Beach Boys last weekend, one of my all-time favorite bands. I hadn’t seen them since the seventies well before Dennis and Carl died and before endless disharmony caused them to splinter in several different directions. It was great to see the five surviving members perform 47 songs even if there were some smoke and mirrors involved thanks in large part to a top-notch backing band and backing vocalists who could hit those high notes. Still, it was a great start to the summer of 2012.

Even though summer has arrived it’s still going to be business as usual for most of us. Sure there will be summer vacations, short weeks, long weekends, and all the other things that go along with summer, including the summertime blues as the days grow warm and sunny and we sit behind our desks or wherever else we work, occasionally and wistfully wishing we were someplace else enjoying the warmth of the sun. Life goes on and so does work and whether you’re in the office or on some sunny beach the news and the stories from the imaging industry will continue to flow in weekly just like the tides. Reading about what’s happening in the imaging industry in The Week in Imaging may not exactly be a cure for the summertime blues but it will help keep you in the loop wherever you are while having fun all summer long.
