Muratec Launches the Mfx-3535

Multifunction document solution delivers exceptional workgroup printing and document delivery

Plano, TX, September 18, 2015 – Muratec America, Inc., manufacturer of multifunction office equipment and business productivity solutions, announces today the availability of the MFX-3535, an A4 monochrome multi-function printer (MFP).

Built on the award-winning MFX-3530 hardware platform, which received Buyer’s Laboratory, Inc.’s 5-Star Environmental Performance Rating, 2014 Winter Pick of the Year for Energy Efficiency, and an overall Recommended rating, the MFX-3535 offers increased functionality, improved reliability and exceptional value.

“The MFX-3535 builds on the success of the Sydney platform and delivers some exceptional new features that our customers have been demanding,” said Jim D’Emidio, President, Muratec America, Inc. “The MFX-3535 is positioned to take a central role in electronic document capture, workflow and storage efforts by acting as the document onramp to workflow solutions, while delivering cost savings in relation to other office requirements such as printing, faxing and copying.”

The MFX-3535 shares the same powerful feature set as the MFX-3530; however, it also includes such enhancements as:

  • Scan-to-cloud: Scan directly into Dropbox, Box, Evernote® and Google Drive™ accounts from the MFX-3535 touchpanel.
  • Blank page detection: The MFX-3535 can automatically detect and remove blank pages when scanning documents. The customer can adjust the sensitivity level.
  • Remote panel: Enables real-time viewing of the MFX-3535 touchscreen from a PC or tablet.

The MFX-3535 features standard 37 page-per-minute simplex output, 10 page-per-minute duplex output, 80-sheet automatic document feeder, legal-size platen glass, 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port, local USB port, direct USB host port (print from / scan to USB flash drives), 512-MB memory, 33.6 Kbps fax modem and 600x 600 dpi color scanner.

The MFX-3535 comes with a standard 80-sheet duplexing automatic document feeder (DADF) that enables two-sided color scanning in a single path.

The 5.8” monochrome touch screen can be fully customized to each user’s preference. “My MFP” enables each user to customize a single screen with the features they use most often, regardless of the mode in which the feature normally resides.

Standard paper capacity on the MFX-3535 is 600 sheets, consisting of (1) 500-sheet paper cassette that can handle up to legal-size paper, as well as a 100-sheet multipurpose bypass tray that can handle letterhead, transparencies, envelopes and various other media. Up to (3) additional paper cassettes can be added for a maximum paper capacity of 2,100-sheets.

The MFX-3535X model includes the base unit, (3) additional paper cassettes and a small paper cassette.

The unit features a standard 250-sheet output tray and can be outfitted with an optional 2-bin output tray to separate copy, fax and print job. The 2-bin tray can hold up to 150-sheets and is attached to the outside of the machine to offer easy access to documents.

Printing Features

The MFX-3535 features standard PCL 6 network printing. Supported features include secure printing, watermarks, job tray selection and duplexing. The system supports printing from Windows (including Windows 10), AS/400, SAP, UNIX and Citrix environments.

An optional PostScript3 enabler (PS750) can be added to enable compatibility with a variety of Linux and Mac operating systems, including Mac OS versions 10.5 – 10.10, and enables direct PDF printing in which the device will receive and print PDF files without having to print through an application.

A barcode enabler (BC750) can be added to enable users to print a variety of barcodes including Code39, Code 128, Postnet, MSI, UPC-A, EAN/JAN and Interleave25.

Scanning Features

Intelligent document capture is enabled on the MFX-3535 with features such as blank page detection, ScanTag® metadata capture and DirectScan™ network scanning.

The optional ScanTag® application enables users to seamlessly capture metadata and document images from the MFX-3535 and transport them directly into document management systems for automatic indexing. Using this feature companies can deploy powerful document on-ramps into individual workgroups to increase the usage and success of their document management program.

DirectScan is a key feature as it allows customers to perform a real-time browse of their network file structure and directly scan documents into specified folders, without having to install any additional hardware or software connectors. This operation mirrors the file searching process that Windows Explorer users have become accustomed to using on their PC. Up to 300 PC folder shortcut keys can be registered for one-touch scan initiation.

Faxing Features

On the faxing side, the internal address book can house up to 1,000 locations, each containing both a fax number and email address. Users may import contacts from Microsoft Outlook (vCard) or other contact management databases (CSV). The intuitive PC fax driver enables users to send documents directly from PC applications to remote fax terminals.

The MFX-3535 supports group dialing (100 groups), broadcasting (mixed fax/email broadcasting supported), transmission confirmation reports, inbound fax routing to email or PC folder and secure fax reception. The unit also enables direct connectivity with network fax servers and performs optimally when installed in a VoIP environment.

Device and Document Security

The MFX-3535 delivers a host of security features designed to restrict device access, audit usage and ensure document integrity.

IT administrators can control device access using IP/MAC address filtering, port disabling and user authentication (Windows Active Directory). The MFPs can be accessed using the intuitive OfficeBridge™ browser interface and traffic between the MFP and the PC can be encrypted using SSL. Outbound email transmission can also be SSL encrypted.

In an effort to retain all fax and email communications that are transmitted from the MFP, both models feature automatic transmission archiving to a secured network location. In the event of an audit all fax and email transmissions can be quickly located. Inbound fax transmissions can be automatically routed to an email inbox or network location to prevent sensitive fax data from being compromised.

The MFX-3535 features an MSRP of $3,995, while the MFX-3535X features an MSRP of $5,895.00. The toner cartridge (TS3510) is rated at 24,000 @ using ISO test chart 19752 and the drum unit (DK3510) is rated at 60,000 impressions. Both front-loading consumables are user-changeable.
