Bay Copy CEO Ray Belanger serves as panelist for MA Family Business Association event on Succession Planning

Rockland, MA, July 13, 2015 – Ray Belanger, CEO of Bay Copy (www.baycopy.com), recently served as a panelist for the (Massachusetts) Family Business Association at their program, “Succeeding at Succession,” held recently at the Holiday Inn, Rockland.

The Family Business Association program examined the issue of transitioning a family-owned business from one generation to the next.

Moderated by Holbrook Cooperative Bank CEO Meg McIsaac, Ray Belanger, as CEO and President of Bay Copy, and a second-generation owner of the business, offered advice to the 50 attendees and fielded questions about the rewards and challenges of being in a family owned business. Other panelists included Leo Vercollone, CEO of VERC Enterprises, and Kevin Smith, President and Chief Operating Officer of Best of Care, Inc.Ed Tarlow, President of the Family Business Association, said, “Successfully transitioning a business from one generation to the next requires skill and careful planning. Belanger, a Norwell, MA resident, is second generation in the business that his father, Ray Belanger, Sr., launched in 1972 under the name Bay State Business Machines. Over the years, the company has evolved in its technology and is a leading provider of document imaging and management solutions throughout the region. The firm celebrated its 40th anniversary several years ago with a celebration attended by industry, local and state officials.
