LOGICnow Launches Automation Manager within the MAX Remote Management Dashboard—Eliminating the Need to Write Code Through Powerful Automated Scripting Capability

LOGICnow, now a part of SolarWinds MSP and a global market leader in integrated cloud-based IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions, today announced the launch of a new MAX Remote Management (RM) dashboard feature, Automation Manager, an integrated scripting tool that eliminates the need for Managed Services Providers (MSPs) to write code and create powerful custom scripts that can be used for automated tasks and script checks.

Scripts are an integral part of an MSP’s administrative process and can quickly automate repetitive day-to-day tasks, ranging from setting the power profile on a device to adding a user to a domain group. Automation Manager offers a simple way to build these task scripts using a visual interface, so both highly skilled and non-specialist IT Pros can build scripts faster and more efficiently, giving them the ability to solve immediate, real-world administrative problems as soon as they arise. Automation Manager also enables users to:

  • Develop multi-layered scripts to test for certain conditions and view automated decisions based on those conditions – for example, a script can check for a system component and then choose which actions to take based on whether it exists or not
  • Use the flexible drag-and-drop interface to compile scripts
  • Choose from hundreds of pre-defined scripts designed to cover a broad variety of common use cases spanning the full range of Windows IT system commands
  • Support scripts that have already been written – admins can upload their existing scripts and manage them from one central repository

“The LOGICnow team understands that scripting is a vital but difficult task which can be extremely time-consuming for technicians”, said Steve Rodda, vice president of product management at LOGICnow. “Manual server and desktop maintenance involves connecting to each machine individually, and walking through each step waiting for it to complete. With Automation Manager, this is now performed in one simple drag-and-drop workflow, delivering complete server and workstation maintenance in a fraction of the time and creating immediate business value.”
