Pulse Technology’s Brandon Cork named to Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin

Schaumburg, IL (Aug. 30, 2022) — Pulse Technology Branch Manager Brandon Cork of Broadview, Illinois, has been named to the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin, serving the Schaumburg community board.

The Boys & Girls Club of Elgin says that it measures its success on “how well we motivate and encourage our Club members to positively develop and graduate from High School on time with a plan for their future. We believe the best way to provide encouragement is through relationships with caring adult staff who work to provide the hope and opportunities our young people need to succeed.”

The Club traces its history to 1993, following discussions between the City of Elgin and the Elgin Police Department who sought a solution of escalating drug and gang problems. The Club staff and board members quickly realized the need for the community’s youth to have a safe after-school place. The Club, with the support of the community and foundations, embarked on a capital campaign to raise funds to support the construction of a 15,000-square-foot facility. The Club now serves multiple communities and more than 2,000 youths per year.

“It’s a great honor to serve on the Board of this organization,” Cork said. “We appreciate the good work that the Boys & Girls Club does to help students in our region. They make a real difference in many lives.”

He serves as a branch manager at Pulse Technology. Prior to Pulse, the Robert Morris University graduate (bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration) was a sales manager for Canon Solutions America and worked in admissions for both DeVry University and Colorado Technical University.

A native of Gary, Indiana, Cork has been part of many volunteer and community activities throughout his career, including work with Habitat for Humanity, Illinois Action of Children, AID (Association for Individual Development) and Sojourner Truth’s House (Gary, Indiana). His outside interests include playing basketball, skating, and bowling. Family is important to him also, and he enjoys spending time with his children. Cork also helped lead a Pulse team of 12 that volunteered with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help prepare 3,600 meals for the underserved.

Cork was also named a “Difference Maker” list by the national trade journal ENX Magazine. He was featured in the magazine’s May 2022 edition, alongside a select group of other industry professionals from across the United States selected for this honor.

Chip Miceli, president/CEO at Pulse Technology, said, “We’re very proud of Brandon’s work not only here at Pulse Technology but all of his outreach into the communities and his recent decision to serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin. Brandon is capable, enthusiastic and a can-do person. We are very glad he is part of our team.”
