Brno, Czech Republic, and Dallas (March 26, 2020) — Over the last few days, the Y Soft team in the Czech Republic has been working on creating face shields for medical use. Y Soft also makes 3D printers in addition to the print management, workflow and scanning solutions.

A large number of Y Soft employees regularly engage in non-profit projects and help where possible. They took the same approach to the COVID-19 situation by organizing a group in their spare time to help address the lack of protective equipment for doctors and other workers who are exposed to the risk of viral infection on a daily basis. Here are a few bullets outlining the situation.

3D-printing protective shields and binder strips — Currently, about 2,000 stackers and several hundred shields are printed.
Shields are distributed free of charge in the form of an easily assembled set, the shields have already been received by the healthcare facilities of the Polyclinic Viniční in Brno, the COVID collection tent of the Central Military Hospital and the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital.
Y Soft is currently on track to produce 500 pieces a day this week and is aiming to get to 2,000 a day very soon.
Thanks to Y Soft’s own production resources, they have the flexibility to respond to current demand.

“The world was not prepared for the current situation. While we cannot handle massive production, it turns out that everyone can voluntarily contribute their own efforts. That’s why we got involved as a company. Our office workers around the world also use affordable 3D printers to print protective equipment for healthcare professionals.
