Datamax Arkansas Named to Best Places to Work List for Third Straight Year

Little Rock, AR (July 15, 2019) — Datamax Arkansas, for the third consecutive year, was named one of the “Best Places to Work in Arkansas” by Arkansas Business and Best Companies Group.

The survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the state. This recognition also reflects a workplace culture at Datamax deeply embedded in the well-being, professional capabilities and ultimate success of its employees.

“We talk an awful lot about Creating Raving Fans in everything that we do as an organization, and for our employees, that promise is the same,” Datamax Inc. President Barry Simon said. “It’s imperative that we as leaders respond to (our employees’) career needs and aspirations, and create a culture that makes people not only want to stay, but to thrive professionally.”

Forty-six companies from across the state of Arkansas were named to the “Best Places to Work in Arkansas” list. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • Be a publicly or privately held business;
  • Have a facility in Arkansas;
  • Have at least 15 employees in Arkansas;
  • Be in business a minimum of one year.

One Datamax Philosophy (firmly etched in the company’s “Little Blue Book”) states “to invest in the continued development of our employees’ skills and knowledge.” A powerful example of this philosophy is the award-winning service department (see photo above), which has achieved the Canon Association of Technical Service Professionals (ATSP) award three straight years, along with Konica Minolta’s Pro-Tech Award for four consecutive years.

Over the past five years, Datamax Arkansas has invested nearly $1 million, while technicians spent more than 18,000 hours, in online and device-specific training programs to earn these coveted manufacturer accolades.

Simon says this investment nets a distinct competitive advantage for the Datamax organization in their service performance, and also a strong sense of professional achievement for the technicians who complete such rigorous training to earn advanced certifications.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Arkansas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics.

This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Arkansas, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.

The winners will be revealed at a special event on Sept. 26, and then published in a special supplement of Arkansas Business on Sept. 30. Click here for more information on the Best Places to Work in Arkansas program.
