He will be based out of the company\u2019s Schaumburg, Illinois, location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining Pulse Technology, Waldschmidt started and ran a roofing company \u2013 for two years. He then turned it over to his cousin, a co-founder of the business. Following that, he sold insurance for Northwestern Mutual, where he won several awards for sales performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The position with Pulse Technology appealed to him, in part, because he has always been drawn to technology. He did have the chance to put his talent to work at Northwestern, by building some software platforms for the company\u2019s use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dominican University graduate, who earned a bachelor\u2019s degree with a major in marketing and a minor in management, played basketball for three of his four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He enjoys outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, and he loves animals. Growing up on a farm, he raised his own cows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He comes from a close family. His brother at age 3 had cancer, and it was the medical technology that saved his life as he grew into adulthood. In support of his brother\u2019s recovery, he has been involved with fundraisers to support Make a Wish, the Mac Fund and other cancer research. His mother was his business teacher in high school, and his father was the school\u2019s basketball coach. He has a brother, Connor, and sister, Myla.
