And we\u2019re not talking about hailing from the same university or growing up in the same town as the person on the other side of the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No, in the world of hardware, the MFP is old reliable. We\u2019re talking speeds and feeds, wants and needs, backed by an MPS agreement with software as the trimmings. That\u2019s a true bell ringer back in the dealer\u2019s bullpen. But if an MFP is not the topic of conversation, it must be something nearly as compelling and almost as profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we dig deeper into the September State of the Industry report on winning with non-MFP hardware, we canvassed our dealer panel on the flex value of their go-to offerings. In other words, how well do they stand on their own or act as a precursor to a bigger client engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enxmag.com\/twii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Crane-Erik.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64624\"\/><figcaption>Erik Crane, CPI Technologies<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital displays and interactive white boards have been co-stars of the managed IT platform at CPI Technologies. It\u2019s a fantastic attention-getter for prospects, because in the case of the Springfield, Missouri, dealership, they\u2019re subjects not being broached by the competition, notes Erik Crane, president and CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditional AV houses and nationwide co-ops with displays on contract actually provide more competition, in Crane\u2019s estimation. As such, they require dedicated planning, engineering and deployment, making them distinct from the company\u2019s traditional MFP engagements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, Lemen believes the power of the offering is truly fueled by the trust and credibility American Business Machines has carved out via its MFP and IT services. \u201cOnce clients experience our commitment to service and support, they are more likely to turn to us for additional solutions like security and access control,\u201d Lemens said. \u201cThis cross-functional capability gives us a strong competitive edge.
