Both Marusic\nand Sheehan emerged from the juggle-athon with all of their appendages intact,\nso that had to be considered a victory. But Wee and Morse gave them reason to\nsweat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flat-Rate Billing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the abbreviated Day Two general session got underway,\nit was a bit less stressful. Marusic, president and CEO of SIICA, spoke about\nthe millennial buying style and the tendency of the generation to gravitate\ntoward subscription buying. That dovetailed nicely into a discussion about\nbundling Sharp products\u2014be they MFPs, display technology, Synappx, etc.\u2014via a\nflat rate program into one contract for clients. While the AQUOS BOARD is still a big hit with the educational\nspace, he\u2019s been hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the Smart Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the challenges in selling displays is the \u201cfear that (dealers) lack the expertise or experience,\u201d he said. \u201cBut it\u2019s not something that your salespeople can\u2019t handle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woods added that the AV space is projecting to generate $20\nbillion in market revenue, making it an enticing proposition. First up was\nShane Sloan, president of Access Systems and a Sharp dealer since 2008. Sloan\nbought the company in 2005, when it had just five employees, and grew it to\n230. He gave a brief overview of the dealer\u2019s ascension in the managed IT\nspace, and elaborated on how it wasn\u2019t for the faint of heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou have to be analytical and have the ability to say no,\u201d\nSloan said. \u201cI\u2019ve talked to some dealers who have been in it for a while. You\ncan\u2019t dip your toe in; you have to be 100% devoted to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next up was Brad Knepper, the president of All Copy Products\nin Denver, who recounted an ambitious 2019 that saw the company move into its\nnew headquarters in Denver\u2019s Lincoln Park.
