But challenges can also be visited upon the dealer, especially in an age where application development and e-commerce ha<g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">v<\/g>e drastically altered the buying habits of clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlthough not everything can be ordered with a few clicks,\ninformation about what they want can be found quickly,\u201d said Denney, a 2019 <em>ENX Magazine<\/em> Difference Maker. \u201cMy goal\nis to ensure that no one can \u2018Google\u2019 me out of business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denney relishes dealing with challenges head<g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace gr-progress sel\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">&#8211;<\/g>on while finding simple solutions that can be implemented throughout a client\u2019s organization. The director of network services at MOEbiz, he has more than 20 years of experience in the IT realm. He provides budgeting, project management, data security <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">and<\/g> office productivity expertise to buoy MOEbiz\u2019s managed network services division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A veteran who spent eight years in the Marine Corps,\nDenney\u2019s early career included stints on the retail front as a manager for\nCompUSA and OfficeMax. Increasingly, he wanted to know more about systems and\nstretch his wings beyond the retail industry. He embarked on training to become\nMicrosoft certified, which started him down the IT path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denney\u2019s affinity for his job and the industry is twofold.\nHe enjoys assisting clients in determining solutions that merge technology in\nthe right time and place. Enabling small companies to leverage various levels\nof technology allows them to remain agile and more profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paying it Forward<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another rewarding trait is passing on his knowledge. \u201cI\nspend time teaching our newer technicians,\u201d he said. \u201cI have had some great\npeople pour into my life over the years, and I feel that it is equally\nimportant that I pay it forward to this next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denney counts business author Ken Blanchard as one of his\ngreatest influences, particularly his writings on customer service and his\nadvice to turn customers into Raving Fans. \u201cKen\u2019s insight on getting clients to\nwear your jersey like they would for their favorite sports team resonates with\nme the most,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From an industry perspective, Denney has gleaned much\ninsight from Paul Dipple. \u201cHearing Paul and attending his peer meetings have me\nso many lightbulb moments,\u201d Denney added. \u201cI always keep them handy and fall\nback to them whenever I have challenges. The biggest takeaway from Paul is to\nnever undervalue what you do and what you know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the last two years, MOEbiz has enjoyed much success in\nhiring its next generation of technicians. Backed by a solid relationship the\ncompany has with a local community college, it has been able to recruit two\nstrong techs. The newcomers have blended their ideas with MOEbiz\u2019s insight into\nolder systems and customer interaction, making the union mutually beneficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGrowing our team is great, but leaving a legacy is even\nmore important to me,\u201d Denney remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Peer Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"286\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enxmag.com\/twii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2019-Difference-Makers-emblem-1-286x300-1-286x300.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36449\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As the dealer seeks to grow its market share, Denney has stressed cybersecurity awareness with ongoing training. Ensuring that he gives as much as he gets, Denney hosts the Tech by 20 peer <g class=\"gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"7\" data-gr-id=\"7\">group,<\/g> and is a chairman of the Louisiana Technology and Development Leadership Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning is an unending yet beneficial journey. \u201cIt is a\npersonal challenge to learn something new every day and make an effort to read\nprofessional development articles and books,\u201d he said. \u201cI also subscribe to a\ncouple of podcasts that allow for a quick listen while I drive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Listening is the key to success for Denney. \u201cProspects and\nclients will tell you their stories and what they really want,\u201d he said. \u201cThis\nis for anyone in a similar position, quit trying to sell and listen. It is easy\nto say but difficult to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEveryone has metrics to meet, not just salespeople.&nbsp;It comes down to how can I help this owner\/executive grow their company? If I do this, I become a better asset for them and for my company.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denney and his\nwife, Debbie, have been married 28 years and have two children, Zachary and Allison.\nA musician who plays several different instruments, he also loves to sing at\nchurch.
