The statement says much about his attitude\ntoward life and implies his gratefulness toward what it has bestowed upon him.\nAs to the question of whether his good fortune is deserved, the answer is\nlikely a resounding yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lewis gives the impression of someone who doesn\u2019t take\nhimself too seriously. The easy-going nature belies a business approach that is\nripe with success. He takes great enjoyment from watching his ARLINGTON\nteammates succeed, \u201cseeing the thrill of victory in the lives of people you\nknow are working so hard.\u201d And he credits his own success by measuring the\nimpact others have made with the organization, and staying out of their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSurround yourself with people much smarter than you,\u201d Lewis\nobserved. \u201cDon\u2019t shackle those people with unnecessary management bells and\nwhistles, and join their collaborative efforts to make the business work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy senior team is a mixture of industry vets. They are the\ntrue difference makers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Career By Chance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte,\nLewis\u2019 initial foray into the industry was one of opportunity. He was preparing\nto marry and needed a job, and just happened to find one within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was going to be temporary,\u201d he said. \u201cTurns out, it\nlasted longer than I expected.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He eventually became the owner of Queen City Business in\nCharlotte, which he led for 10 years. Lewis spent another three years doing\nmission work in China. In 2008, he joined then-Carolina Wholesale, a journey he\ncontinues today as part of the recently rebranded ARLINGTON.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Lewis\u2019 early influences was Trey Price, a former\nboss. Trey understood the balance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banding Together\nToward Goal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last November, the Carolina Wholesale Group rebranded its\nthree distribution brands\u2014Carolina Wholesale, Arlington and Digitek\u2014under the\nARLINGTON banner. Lewis called this a defining moment for the organization, one\nthat entailed many minute details to complete the transition. Elements such as\nmessaging, compensation plans and territory divisions made for a complex\nproject. But Lewis was proud of the way the entire team bonded together in\nmaking for a successful transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his career at ARLINGTON, Lewis has played a pivotal\nrole in forging strong ties with partners at Canon U.S.A., Ricoh Americas and\nLexmark. The executive team has identified five areas to focus its efforts, and\nLewis credits COO Rob Collins with doing a yeoman\u2019s job of keeping the team on\ntask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll these internal goals have one main emphasis, namely improving our ability to take care of customers,\u201d Lewis observed. \u201cAt the end of the day, it is all about them and their success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One area Lewis sees ARLINGTON building upon is its approach\nto millennials. He feels tasked to augment the \u201cold school\u201d mentality with\ngo-to-market strategies that creates a customer experience in line with the way\nclients desire to partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Growth and Faith<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of personal growth, Lewis intends to remain\nfaithful to daily Bible reading, and he believes he has been more successful in\nthat area this year. He strives to be kinder, more patient and less\nself-centered, buoyed by his faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the home front, Lewis and his wife, Connie, will\ncelebrate their 28<sup>th<\/sup> wedding anniversary on July 20. They enjoy\nspending time with their daughters, Brittney and Kendall, along with their\nfriends.
