After all, a new business\u2014like a newborn child\u2014tends to dominate one\u2019s\nevery thought and action, and all else tends to fall by the wayside. It got to\nthe point where McArtor felt as if he had struck rock bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enxmag.com\/twii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/McArtor.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34097\"\/><figcaption>Wes McArtor\nPresident\nNEXERA<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With the help and encouragement of his wife, Lisa, McArtor\nwas able to reprioritize his life, knowing that he needed to put his faith and\nfamily above work. Everything else fell into line, giving him the balance and\npeace of mind he needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI ignored (faith and family) in the early years of starting\nthis business,\u201d said McArtor, a 2019 <em>ENX\nMagazine<\/em> Difference Maker. \u201cI changed course and started putting God first,\nfamily next and work third. Miracles started happening and we\u2019ve been\nsuccessful beyond my wildest dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy dad always drilled into me that if you are willing to\nwork harder than everyone else, you\u2019ll achieve more than most will ever dream\nof,\u201d he added. \u201cThat\u2019s proven to be true. I\u2019ve learned over time that there\nneeds to be balance, but Greg and I\u2019s faith, dedication and hard work is why we\nare still here.&nbsp;Too many companies just focus on the almighty dollar, when\nit\u2019s God Almighty that deserves the focus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faith, family and hard work have catapulted McArtor and\nNEXERA (A BEI Services Company) to the apex of the industry in providing copier\nand printer device data and benchmarks to the dealer channel for more than 25\nyears, as well as a roadmap for clients to reach the pinnacle of service\nexcellence. Most recently, the company\u2019s imaging-Device-as-a-Service (iDaaS)\ntool for no-meter billing is in the foreground of the industry-wide movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, McArtor is a shining example, both from a personal\nand professional standpoint, of the need to prioritize in order to move\nforward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Genesis of an Idea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After serving a stint in the U.S. Marines, McArtor landed a\ntechnician\u2019s job with Savin\u2019s Dallas branch in 1981. Twelve years later, fortified\nby his wealth of experience in the field, McArtor and Moseley set about\ncreating BEI Services to provide a third-party source for standards and\ncomparative-service reporting on a national level. McArtor derives much\nsatisfaction from watching his customers improve on their metrics and thrive,\nas well as seeing his own team enjoy personal and professional growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are blessed to still be in business after 26 years,\u201d\nMcArtor said. \u201cGreg and I have always tried to do the right thing first, then\nif we can make a little money at it, we\u2019ll be successful. We still believe\nintegrity means something.&nbsp;Not every one of our customers is as successful\nas we\u2019d like, but if they fail, we see it as our failure and try to improve\nourselves to prevent it from happening again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He credits Dick Elixman, NEXERA\u2019s CFO, with challenging him\nto look beyond data analytics and solutions and realize that the business is\nreally about people. \u201cTruly successful leaders are those who know how to get\nresults through others, and that skill translates to many facets of life,\u201d\nMcArtor adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, 2019 has been an eventful year for McArtor,\nbeginning with BEI\u2019s merger with Business Systems Consulting and the rebrand to\nNEXERA, which he called a \u201cHerculean effort\u201d for his team. The company learned\nnew ways of helping customers, put new products into place and doubled in size.\nAs the new entity settles into place, McArtor will be looking to expand its\npresence in other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Added Firepower<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuous improvement is a key cornerstone for NEXERA as\nwell as it is for clients. \u201cWe can now offer expertise with ECI and\nCompass\/Sherpa that no one else can do,\u201d McArtor remarked. \u201cNEXERA will bring\nour analytics power to guide our development of a dealer\u2019s team so everyone can\nbe successful.&nbsp; It simply costs too much to replace a team member, so\ninvesting in their development pays big dividends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Away from the office, Lisa and Wes McArtor have been\ntogether for nearly 30 years. They have a son, Josh, who got engaged last\nmonth. Their youngest child, Dakota, is married and acts as a guide for TDK\nSafaris, which the family owns and operates in South Africa. Lisa and Josh\nrecently flew there for the start of the safari season. The family enjoys\ncamping and riding their side-by-side UTV.
