Melville, NY (October 18, 2016)<\/em> \u2014 As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is proud to announce that the Company\u2019s partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation has helped contribute to the planting of 50,000 trees this year. This milestone is the latest outcome of Canon\u2019s ongoing support of the Arbor Day Foundation\u2019s Community Tree Recovery Program, which helps to rebuild communities affected by natural disasters through the planting of trees.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, Canon\u2019s contributions to Arbor Day\u2019s reforestation efforts and the Community Tree Recovery Program have helped provide more than 410,000 trees, across national forests and communities impacted by natural disasters. This year, the Arbor Day Foundation, has planted a total of nearly one million trees across 12 states, with the donation of over 50 different types of species. Through the Canon Forest Program, which supports the Community Tree Recovery Program, Canon supported the planting of one tree for every eligible imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction system sold from April 1, 2016, reaching a goal of 50,000 trees planted.<\/p>\n

Through inclusion in both the EPEAT and ENERGY STAR programs, Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE products have been recognized as leaders in their respective categories particularly when measuring Total Energy Consumption (TEC), with 26 of Canon\u2019s 34 EPEAT Gold ratings awarded to imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs. An ENERGY STAR partner for more than 20 years, Canon has more than 200 ENERGY STAR certified products that incorporate energy-efficient technologies, with many offering energy saver mode, automatic duplex settings and low sleep mode power consumption, while providing outstanding features and performance. Earlier this year, Canon U.S.A. received the 2016 ENERGY STAR \u201cPartner of the Year – Product Brand Owner Award\u201d from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products.
