Based out of the company\u2019s headquarters in Durham, Durrett will oversee Bell and Howell\u2019s activities in demand generation, market intelligence, brand development and corporate communications.<\/p>\n<p>Durrett has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, product management and engineering leadership roles with entrepreneurial growth-stage technology companies. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and product management at cyber-threat intelligence startup Emerging Threats, which was acquired in 2015 by Proofpoint.<\/p>\n<p>Durrett\u2019s distinguished career also includes serving as vice president of marketing at Overture Networks, founding publisher-editor of CarrierEthernetNews.com, and global marketing co-chair of the Metro Ethernet Forum. He has designed and marketed technology solutions for industry pioneers such as Hatteras Networks (which he also co-founded), Covelight Systems, NetEdge Systems, and Wandel &amp; Goltermann.<\/p>\n<p>Durrett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University.
