It\u2019s just a great organization that does so much good for children and adults in need in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewayside.org\/starlight-guardian-humanitarian-luncheon\/\">Starlight benefit<\/a> \u2013 which also recognized fellow recipient Bill Wills, WTAM morning show host \u2013 raised $448,650 to benefit The Wayside, which provides enriching services to more than 600 individuals with developmental disabilities in more than 70 neighborhood homes in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. The funds raised will support the organization\u2019s Transportation Program, which <a href=\"http:\/\/ourladyofthewayside.weebly.com\/\">The Wayside says <\/a>enables their consumers to participate in their communities and realize individual goals, leading to increased self-confidence and greater independence.<\/p>\n<p>Inaugurated in 2005, The Wayside created the Starlight Guardian Humanitarian Award to recognize those who embrace the spirit of giving. Recipients are chosen based on demonstrated devotion to creating opportunities for enhanced quality for many.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(Paul is) someone who is very generous and who has a soft spot in his heart for children,\u201d says Rich Frank, president and CEO of OhioGuidestone, Blue\u2019s corporate charity of choice. \u201cHe\u2019s fostered a really great staff who are also as philanthropic, I think, as he is. \u2026 I can\u2019t think of anyone more worthy than (Paul) to receive a humanitarian award.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to enjoying lunch and a live auction, attendees of the Starlight benefit viewed videos dedicated to each honoree demonstrating their commitment to philanthropy and community.
