All of these sales category increases yield a significant increase in rebates\u00a0to participating shareholders and affiliates.<\/p>\n<p>Independent Stationers\u2019 membership grew in the first quarter with the addition of 8 new\u00a0shareholders and affiliates. In addition, Independent Stationers added several new suppliers in the\u00a0expanded product categories of educational furniture, FMI, personal care, as well as cleaning and\u00a0protection products. Independent Stationers members are enjoying growth selling to the federal\u00a0government and also experiencing continued traction through the many commercial, public sector and\u00a0school supply contracts the group holds.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan Kristenson, Chairman of Independent Stationers said, \u201cWe work continually to provide new\u00a0and diverse programs and strive to build inclusive programs with real value for members and affiliates of\u00a0varied sizes and diverse needs.
