It was a terrific conference. This was the first of the many conferences I\u2019ll be attending this year and I\u2019ll have more on EFI Connect next week.<\/p>\n<p>Next month I\u2019ll be in Los Angeles for the Konica Minolta Dealer meeting and in March I\u2019m off to Ft. Lauderdale for my first ITEX Show. \u00a0I expect to be doing additional traveling in April and May as well as October and dates in between as I continue to receive those \u201cHold the Dates\u201d e-mails.<\/p>\n<p>I give those who travel more frequently than I do a lot of credit. I don\u2019t know how you do it. For many of us in the document imaging industry travel is inevitable. For some it\u2019s easy to get things done while on the road thanks to technology. For others it\u2019s more of a challenge, whether one has the technology or not.<\/p>\n<p>As someone responsible for generating a massive amount of content throughout the year for both the monthly print and weekly digital editions of <em>ENX<\/em> and <em>ENX\/The Week in Imaging<\/em>, my challenge is finding a happy medium between what I can accomplish on the road and what\u2019s best done in the privacy of my home office. To be honest, conducting hundreds of interviews a year and then transcribing them is a time-consuming process and a task much easier to do in my home office. I realize I\u2019m not writing the Great American Novel here, but it\u2019s still in everybody\u2019s best interests\u2014readers and mine\u2014to make sure whatever I\u2019m writing is interesting, accurate, and readable.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong, I enjoy these industry events, admittedly, some more than others. The travel part, driving to the airport, waiting, flying, etc., I can do without. But being there is another thing. As much as I enjoy working alone from home, there\u2019s still nothing like being around people and as corny as pandering as it may sound I can\u2019t think of a better group of people to be around than my associates in the document imaging industry. \u00a0Feel free to tell me to get a life.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, if you see me in my travels, be sure and say \u201cHello.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for reading.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week I was in Las Vegas for the EFI Connect conference.
