\"\"<\/a>With an aging printer fleet and users relying on their expensive desktop devices, the City of Avon Lake was facing increases in its printing costs and resource consumption. To gain control of the city’s finances, a new budgeting structure was implemented so all costs were allocated by department. However, the current printing environment did not have a print management system to track costs so the city sought the help of its office equipment dealer, Ace Business Solutions.<\/p>\n

“Without a print management system, we were needlessly wasting money and resources,” explains Scott Herrick, IT Director. “Before, we were printing 240,000 pages in a year and had no clue who was printing what. Since introducing Print Audit 6 to our environment, we have cut our print volumes by over 25 percent.”<\/p>\n

Ken Longrich of Ace Business Solutions installed the Print Audit Assessor in the city’s environment for 60 days.\u00a0The Assessor is a unique version of Print Audit 6 designed to help office equipment dealers spot document creation inefficiencies and bottlenecks in their customer’s environment.\u00a0After the assessment, Longrich rolled out a comprehensive solution for the city that included 80 seats of Print Audit 6 Suite<\/a> to track workstation printing and two new Sharp MFPs with Print Audit Embedded<\/a> to track walk-up printing and photocopying.<\/p>\n

Using Print Audit Rules<\/a>, the city implemented cost-saving restrictions to maximize the efficiency of their new devices and develop cost-conscious users. In the first quarter, the city saw immediate decreases in print volumes, resource consumption and printing expenses.<\/p>\n
