Nominations Open: It’s Time to Recognize the Difference Makers in the Industry

It’s the middle of January, and that can only mean one thing as far as ENX Magazine is concerned. It is time to start soliciting nominations for the 2026 Difference Makers program. If you know the drill, you can skip the rest of this blog and head straight to the nomination form.

Only days after the missus finally packed away the Christmas decorations, it was time to roll out the website creative and embark on the long process to identify the most valuable players of the office technology universe. It is the only recognition program in the industry, and it gives managers, executives, clients and partners the opportunity to shine a light on the best of the best, whether bosses, subordinates or otherwise, via the nomination process.

Every year we honor about 50-75 individuals representing dealers, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, leasing companies, solutions, consultants, technology specialists, managed service firms, coaches/trainers, third-party vendors—we leave no professional stone unturned. These folks are then profiled in the May issue of ENX Magazine. During the course of the year, a select number of honorees participate in extensive interviews to provide long-form personality profiles.

As we’re all aware, every company has its share of well-known superstars—we’ve brought you many of their stories over the years—but we’ve also introduced you to many behind-the-scenes stalwarts who are certainly integral to the success of their companies and those of their industry partners. Honorees need not have a corner office to qualify. We want to know about all of those unheralded folks who make this industry hum. They are members of our industry family, so show them the love they deserve. You’ll be glad you did, and the honoree will always appreciate that you took the time to acknowledge all they do.

It’s a wildly subjective exercise, to be sure. In general, the qualities of a Difference Maker include the basics: trustworthy, reliable, goes above and beyond to help teammates/partners, takes the initiative/solves problems, and is friendly and approachable. Everyone has their own definition of what being a Difference Maker entails. Trust your gut or use the force—either way, the first person you instinctively think of is likely the best and most deserving in your eyes.

We only have a few rules, including a new one:

  • You cannot nominate yourself. After all, a true Difference Maker is too humble to do that, anyway.
  • Two, anyone who was honored in 2025 (you can check the list here) is ineligible for the recognition this year.
  • Lastly, those individuals who have been honored three times are no longer eligible for the recognition.

Feel free to reach out to me or Susan Neimes if you have any questions. Please take the time to nominate someone today.
