M&A Roundup: Repeat Business Systems Nabs a Pair, Ricoh Swings Deal for AV Specialist

And so it begins. We’re talking about M&A madness season. When the calendar switches to January, all of the deals that were completed in November and December are revealed to the public. Despite the general slowing of transactions in 2025, we’re off to a quick start.

The opening round features a dealer, Repeat Business Systems (Repeat) of Albany, New York, and manufacturer Ricoh. Coincidentally, Repeat is a proud carrier of the Ricoh line. The dealership double-dipped, acquiring Strategic Data Systems (SDS) of Clifton Park, New York, as well as the copier division of EOS Technologies of Round Lake, New York. Ricoh scooped up AV specialist Presentation Products.

We’ll start with Repeat. SDS is a respected technology solutions firm known for its expertise in IT infrastructure, data management, and security services for 36 years. It strengthens Repeat’s ability to deliver an expanded portfolio of advanced technology solutions while maintaining its hallmark of personal, high-touch service with unmatched technical capabilities.

Dan Abbuhl, Repeat Business Systems

“Strategic Data Systems is a natural fit for our organization,” said Dr. Dawn Abbuhl, president of Repeat Business Systems. “Their technical expertise and customer-first culture align closely with our values, and the technical expertise they are bringing is second to none. This acquisition allows us to continue our incredible growth and augment our expertise and technical support for our customers’ evolving technological needs, while continuing to provide the exceptional service and partnership we are known for. In addition, we can now offer a deeper array of technology to the SDS customers, including copiers, mailing and shipping equipment, VoIP, interactive flat panel displays, software utilizing the next generation AI, and more.”

The addition of SDS enhances Repeat’s capabilities across IT services, cybersecurity, managed network services, data protection, disaster recovery and infrastructure support, providing customers with greater depth, broader expertise and expanded resources.

“Our team is excited to join Repeat Business Systems,” said Stuart Sacks, president of Strategic Data Systems. “This partnership allows us to grow, invest further in our people and technologies, and bring even more value to our customers, without losing the culture and relationships, many of which we have maintained for decades.”

There will be no immediate changes to customer contacts, contracts, or service processes. Both organizations are committed to ensuring a seamless transition and uninterrupted service for all customers. All the current SDS staff will remain and have integrated perfectly into the Repeat Business Systems team.

Repeat also forged a strategic partnership with EOS Technologies. As part of this agreement, EOS Technologies has selected Repeat to provide sales, service and supplies for multifunction copiers and printers. This decision was based on Repeat’s outstanding reputation for customer care, technical expertise, and service excellence. Repeat consistently maintains a Net Promoter Score above 90%, placing them among the highest-rated service organizations in the country.

“We are deeply grateful for the loyalty and trust our customers have placed in the Tiberio family and EOS Technologies for three generations for over 40 years,” said Tom Tiberio, owner of EOS Technologies. “Our goal with this partnership is to ensure all of our customers receive the highest level of support and partnership.”

EOS Technologies remains the Capital Region’s leader in audio, video, and integration technologies and will continue to focus on supporting our AV customers with the same dedication and expertise now and into the future.

“At the heart of this partnership is a shared commitment to people — our customers and our teams,” Abbuhl said. “We are honored to welcome EOS customers and look forward to supporting them with the same care, responsiveness, and excellence that have defined both organizations for nearly four decades, and we are excited to bring additional products, resources, and expertise to our EOS customers.”

Ricoh-Presentation Products

Ricoh this week announced that it has acquired Presentation Products, Inc. (PPI), a leading New York-based audiovisual (AV) integrator with advanced managed services capabilities. The acquisition expands Ricoh’s digital services portfolio in North America by building upon the strengths of Cenero, the company’s wholly-owned managed AV services provider, and reinforces its global strategy to support an evolving workplace environment.

Founded in 1994, PPI brings a team of 100 specialists in AV, engineering, design, and technology integration, serving enterprise clients across finance, legal, media, and other high-value sectors. PPI’s design and engineering expertise fast-tracks Ricoh’s workplace experience strategy, offering a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that span AV, IT, collaboration platforms, and managed services.

Bob Lamendola, Ricoh

“Ricoh is investing in high-growth digital services that enable enterprises to build more connected, collaborative, and intelligent workplaces,” said Bob Lamendola, chief digital services and delivery officer, Ricoh North America. “PPI’s strong reputation, deep technical expertise, and established presence in New York City, the largest AV market in North America, will immediately increase our ability to deliver integrated workplace solutions at scale.”

Ricoh and PPI are committed to a seamless integration that maintains service continuity and exceptional client support. PPI employees will join Cenero in Ricoh’s growing digital services organization, gaining access to expanded career paths, training, and resources while maintaining their values that not only reflect the principles of the Ricoh Way, but have also made PPI a trusted partner to its clients for more than 30 years.

“Ricoh’s vision for a connected, intelligent workplace aligns perfectly with the work our team has been doing for decades,” said Orin Knopp, founder and CEO of Presentation Products, Inc. “By becoming part of Ricoh, we can bring even greater scale, resources, and innovation to our clients while preserving the culture, expertise, and relationships that define who we are. We’re proud to contribute to Ricoh’s growing digital services vision and to create new opportunities for our employees and clients alike.”

Ricoh continues to make investments globally to deliver enhanced meeting experiences and hybrid work solutions for organizations worldwide, including the acquisition of Cenero (US), DataVision, Pure AV, AVC (EMEA), Videocorp and Go2neXt (Latin America).

Takahiro Irisa, senior corporate officer and president of Ricoh’s global Digital Services Business Unit, Ricoh Company, Ltd., stated, “This acquisition is a milestone in our global strategy to invest resources in businesses with future growth potential, such as Workplace Experience. We remain steadfast in advancing our global workplace services capabilities, including AV integration, to empower our clients to tackle challenges in transforming their workspaces and work styles to meet evolving employee and technology needs in shifting workplace environments.”

Trafalgar Capital Partners, an M&A advisor with a focus on the technology, media, and telecommunications industries, helped facilitate the transaction.
