Epson Expands Corporate Printer Portfolio with New WorkForce Color A3 Multifunction Printer

Epson America Inc., a leading provider of superior performing printing solutions, announced the expansion of its corporate color inkjet line head printer portfolio with the WorkForce Enterprise WF-C17590 offering 75 ISO ppm, designed to offer customers and dealers another affordable color option alongside the 100 ISO ppm WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20590. Powered by PrecisionCore line head technology, the WF-C17590 offers high-speed production and professional-quality output to meet the productivity and versatility needs of SMB and corporate workgroups.

The WF-C17590 will be available January 2018 through participating BTA resellers.

“Epson has always valued its channel partners, making it a point to listen and implement their feedback when possible. In fact, we expanded our high-speed color line head printer portfolio to enable partners to offer the range of printing solutions required to stay competitive,” said Larry Trevarthen, director of business imaging, Epson America. “In addition, we continue to innovate with independent software vendors to ensure compatibility in nearly any document management environment for seamless office workflow and enhanced productivity.”

In a conference call with ENX Magazine, Trevarthen noted the WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20590 has been well received, but resellers sought an expansion to the portfolio to truly gain market traction. The 100 ISO ppm model has performed well in the SMB space, along with interest from houses of worship and educational verticals. The 75 ISO ppm will open up the market to compete with the 55 ppm color laser copiers.

Epson has expanded its print management options with solution partners through the Epson Open Platform (EOP), a flexible and customizable program that allows ISVs to meet specific and changing customer requirements as business goals and enterprise IT systems evolve. Through Epson’s partnership with Nuance Communications, Nuance eCopy ShareScan and Equitrac Office/Express software will be fully integrated into the WorkForce Enterprise printer portfolio. Additional partners available through the EOP program include PaperCut, Ringdale, nddPrint, Preo Analytics, Gespage, and Drivve for seamless integration with web-based enterprise applications.

“This area, particularly as we dive deeper into print management, security and other solutions, is a critical growth area in addition to what we’re doing on the hardware side,” Trevarthen said of the partnerships.

“Epson’s 2018 strategy will be focused on continued channel expansion across the commercial spectrum with IT VARs and BTA copier VARs,” he added. “Secondly, we’ll be offering more marketing and sales programs for partnering. Lastly, with our software partnerships, in addition to those that are horizontal across the print space, we’ll also look to add partnerships in various verticals so that we’ve got deep solutions for markets such as health care and legal. Channel partnerships, more programs, demand generation and software expansion are all critical areas for us to expand on.”
