PE portfolios are generally short-term rentals, so to speak, for those companies acquired by investment specialists. Invariably, the PE investor will cash out its chips and move on to the next opportunity somewhere in the five-year range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when Keypoint Intelligence\u2014a data-driven market intelligence and testing firm supporting the office technology ecosystem\u2014was able to join forces with Total Specific Solutions (TSS), based in The Netherlands, stability was but one of many advantages realized. Headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey, Keypoint will reap the advantages of joining a division of a $10 billion global vertical market software leader. At the same time, it will maintain the autonomy and capability to continue growing and tracking the current and emerging technologies that has enabled it to carve out a niche within the office, commercial and industrial print technology spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We sat down with Keypoint CEO Anthony Sci for the latest installment of Two-Minute Drill to chart the advantages and firepower that TSS will provide from a resource perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>How did the Total Specific Solutions opportunity come about and how long had the parties been in discussions?<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sci:<\/strong> Atar Capital had owned us since 2019. For private equity companies, ownership is usually a three- to five-year proposition. In Atar\u2019s case, it was going on seven years, so I think they were looking, that it was time. Keypoint is a successful organization and that&#8217;s always a good time to cash out your investment. We started looking around the summer of last year and got many inquiries. Toward the end of 2025 and the beginning of this year, we started to fully engage with TSS. Out of everybody that I talked to, I felt TSS was the best fit for Keypoint because they\u2019re a buy-and-hold company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TSS is a division of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csisoftware.com\/\">Constellation Software<\/a>, a $10 billion company that specializes in vertical market software. It&#8217;s really nice to be part of that organization and having the expertise of other companies that you can leverage and talk about best practices. The company was founded in The Netherlands, and a several of us will be going to a leadership and best practices forum there. It&#8217;s pretty cool to be part of a larger organization with all of these other companies and have the ability to brainstorm best practices and learn from them. I\u2019ve always been a firm believer in learning, no matter what age you are, because you don&#8217;t know everything. Learning allows you to keep growing as an individual, and these forums provide that opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What do you like about TSS and what do they bring to the table?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sci: <\/strong>For me, again, it&#8217;s having that ability to talk and be part of something bigger. From Keypoint\u2019s perspective, it&#8217;s joining a buy-and-hold company. The great thing for our clients and employees is that the company will never be sold again. That is [TSS] business philosophy. They&#8217;ve been doing this for a long time, and it gives everybody a peace of mind that we won&#8217;t have to go through this again in three or five years. People question whether Keypoint is a software company or not. A majority of our business is comprised of the platforms that we developed\u2014the consulting business, the advisory business, the testing business that are all key parts of it and they all feed off of each other. TSS saw the benefit of the whole company, not just pieces of it. To me, it&#8217;s a real honor for our industry, which has faced challenges over the last couple of years, to have a $10 billion corporation like TSS see the value in Keypoint and made us their first-ever U.S. acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What other benefits will Keypoint Intelligence reap from the union?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sci:<\/strong> Because they\u2019re a software company, there&#8217;s a lot of platform benefits. For me, it\u2019s the collaboration, and for sales guys, these are our kind of products that work within the infrastructure of the overall TSS environment. I think just having that expertise from other software companies is really a benefit to Keypoint. It will be nice to have the ability to brainstorm and bounce ideas off one another. We\u2019ll also be keeping the Keypoint name, and maintaining that stability is an important element moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Will you have the ability to acquire companies that build upon the organization?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sci: <\/strong>The great thing is, TSS wants to grow Keypoint organically and through acquisition. It&#8217;ll be nice to have the investment capital to support it. We\u2019ll be looking at organizations that mesh with what Keypoint is doing, as well as those that introduce something new. There are intriguing things from an AI perspective, from a robotics perspective, and other true growth areas in our industry that could be complementary. At the same time, it probably makes sense to have a sharper focus on products and narrow our scope a little. Then we can make further investments into our core products. I&#8217;ve already talked to [TSS] about other acquisitions that we can do to enhance Keypoint and make it even stronger. That\u2019s something we\u2019ll explore after we\u2019ve had the chance to get integrated within the company\u2019s infrastructure.
