Nor is it\nconsidered a victory if both the dealership and its client come out on top in a\ndeal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, should SOS, its client and Puente\u2019s team members\nall check the satisfaction box, that enables long-term success and adds a smile\nto the face of the company\u2019s president of sales and marketing. A win-win-win\nscenario might be harder to achieve, but its impact is longer lasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat means we give exceptional customer service and value\nto our clients, even though that may draw on the profitability of the company,\u201d\nsaid Puente, a 2019 <em>ENX Magazine<\/em>\nDifference Maker. \u201cWe treat all team members with respect and are willing to\nreward them financially for exceptional performance. With these two priorities,\nour bottom line shows exceptional results, giving SOS the win in the long run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOS is very much a family, with Puente and his brother,\nBuddy, the patriarchs of the organization. For example, Puente proudly notes\nthat many longtime employees are reaching retirement age and will enter the\nnext stage of their lives buffered by an aggressive 401K plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Ethic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then again, hard work has always been ingrained in Puente\nand his blood family. In sixth grade, he ran a paper route, and always held a\njob through high school. But as a senior in high school, Puente lost his job at\nthe local hardware store. His \u201cpop,\u201d Victor Puente Sr., needed a delivery\nperson for his typewriter repair shop, and the youngster reluctantly accepted\nthe position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In college, Puente gave architecture a shot, but it didn\u2019t\ntake. He even tried selling system furniture, but soon found that sales\u2014and a\ncareer with SOS\u2014was his true destiny. Working with his father provided insight\nnot only to the business world, it also offered the opportunity to seek out his\nbetter self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe taught me that whatever I lacked in talent or financial\nwherewithal, I could overcome with an exceptional work ethic and a focus of\nvalue-add for our clients and teammates,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"286\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enxmag.com\/twii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2019-Difference-Makers-emblem-1-286x300-1-286x300.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36091\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>That mantra was put to the test in the fall of 2018, when\nSOS\u2019 largest client (a Fortune 500 company) informed him they would be issuing\na new RFP. Puente and his team quickly mobilized, and in a series of meetings,\nthey were able to illustrate the value-add that SOS brought to the table. The\nbid was rescinded and the contract extended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOS has fostered a reputation for operating debt-free, which\nthe Puentes have extended into their personal lives. The company is tracking\nrecord-breaking net income for 2019, and Puente hopes to add record-breaking\nrevenue to the narrative as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pushing Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are aggressively pursuing new accounts and creating\nunique answers to our clients\u2019 document technology challenges,\u201d he said. \u201cThe\nongoing challenge is solving the problem of sales recruitment and productivity.\nWe continue to look and try various avenues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puente has two great passions outside of work: family and\nhis relationship with Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. Vince and Mona\nPuente have been married for 44 years and have two grown children, Vince Jr.\nand Lindsay. The Puentes are highly involved with local, state and national\npolitics, along with Christ-centered organizations.
