Rockland, MA, July 13, 2015 –<\/em> Ray Belanger, CEO of Bay Copy (www.baycopy.com), recently served as a panelist for the (Massachusetts) Family Business Association at their program, \u201cSucceeding at Succession,\u201d held recently at the Holiday Inn, Rockland.<\/p>\n

The Family Business Association program examined the issue of transitioning a family-owned business from one generation to the next.<\/p>\n

Moderated by Holbrook Cooperative Bank CEO Meg McIsaac, Ray Belanger, as CEO and President of Bay Copy, and a second-generation owner of the business, offered advice to the 50 attendees and fielded questions about the rewards and challenges of being in a family owned business. Other panelists included Leo Vercollone, CEO of VERC Enterprises, and Kevin Smith, President and Chief Operating Officer of Best of Care, Inc.Ed Tarlow, President of the Family Business Association, said, \u201cSuccessfully transitioning a business from one generation to the next requires skill and careful planning. Belanger, a Norwell, MA resident, is second generation in the business that his father, Ray Belanger, Sr., launched in 1972 under the name Bay State Business Machines. Over the years, the company has evolved in its technology and is a leading provider of document imaging and management solutions throughout the region. The firm celebrated its 40th anniversary several years ago with a celebration attended by industry, local and state officials. In addition to being CEO of Bay Copy, Belanger is Immediate Past Chair of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, a founding member and former President of the national trade association Select Dealer Group, a past President of the Konica National Advisory Board, a current member of the Lexmark Advisory Board and has been a featured speaker\/panelist at industry events.<\/p>\n
