The presentation titled \u201cOur Own Worst Enemy?\u201d was given by European Sales Manager Jason Doran of Static Control, Lexmark\u2019s Worldwide Brand Protection Manager Andrew Gardner and HP Product Development Engineer Bernadine Maher.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are privileged that Lexmark and HP accepted our invitation to join forces in this way,\u201d said Doran. \u201cBoth Bernadine and Andrew did an excellent job in demonstrating the common ground between OEMs and genuine remanufacturers with regard to clones and intellectual property issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The presentation was featured twice on the seminar programme and was standing room only on both occasions. Petrit Levendi, CEO and Managing Director of Colombo sh.p.k, attended the event. \u201cWe leapt at the chance to hear from Lexmark and HP,\u201d he commented. \u201cWe greatly appreciate being addressed directly by the OEMs, as it provides us with a clear perspective on where they stand. It is particularly encouraging to have the distinct difference between clones and the genuine remanufacturing industry acknowledged by them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe extend our thanks to both Lexmark and HP for agreeing to join us in addressing these issues,\u201d Doran added. \u201cAt Static Control we hope that they will continue to provide their input into our seminars throughout 2015, and we will welcome contributions from all printer OEMs who wish to make their position known.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Static Control also presented three well-attended technical demonstrations throughout the three-day event. Its booth highlighted the recently launched ink jet range of products, ColorControl Replacement Imaging Systems and the materials that emphasized the importance of working with a trusted supplier.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s strong stance on intellectual property matters was a key element of the booth, which featured a video of past and current legal actions against other aftermarket suppliers. The significance of this was underlined by a number of raids on various stands by German customs officials, the third year where raids have occurred at Remanexpo.<\/p>\n<p>Static Control is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket imaging systems and components supporting genuine cartridge remanufacturers within the global laser and ink jet industry.
