A complete source for graphics, copying, printing and mailing needs, including variable data printing and marketing solutions, Goodcopy Printing & Digital Graphics in New Haven, CT has been in business for over 40 years and takes pride in having the most innovative digital imaging technology available. Goodcopy also strives to deliver fast, high-quality output to clients as their top priority and in early 2011, began evaluating new solutions that would accommodate their growing print volumes, further improve their output quality, and reduce ongoing issues with downtime.

In order to maintain their competitive edge and provide the best service to their portfolio of customers, including several Fortune 500 companies, Goodcopy sought a solution that would keep their production operations running for the maximum time each day and produce the superior color quality that their customers had come to expect. They also wanted to partner with a vendor that would provide excellent service to support their technologies.

After considering all of the major digital imaging vendors as part of their evaluation process, Good Copy determined that Konica Minolta best met their solution criteria by combining innovative technology with a proven service track record. Having a Konica Minolta bizhub 1050 Monochrome Production Print System for several years, Goodcopy was more than satisfied with the level of customer service they had received and considered this one of Konica Minolta’s most compelling advantages.

Goodcopy decided to purchase a new Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000 Color Digital Press and further expand their black & white capabilities with the addition of the bizhub PRO 1200 Monochrome Production Print System. The combination of the bizhub PRESS C8000 and the bizhub PRO 1200 has given the print house a broader range of capabilities and drastically improved their turnaround time. Up and running fairly immediately, the fast, new Konica Minolta systems allowed Goodcopy to increase overall print volume by 30 percent. Within a few months, the print house has also decreased their overtime hours by 15 percent and experienced far less down time due to the superior reliability of the devices and dependable Konica Minolta service team.

With the Konica Minolta systems, Goodcopy offers enhanced color and quality functionality to customers, as well as a wider selection of paper sizes, substrates and finishing. The print house has added 13 x19-inch stock and inline finishing features such as saddle-stitching, binding, GBC punch, folding and stapling. With the fully networked bizhub PRO 1200 and bizhub PRESS C8000, Goodcopy can merge pictures, logos, text, covers and tabs to produce print runs ranging from one to one-thousand, directly from the systems.

The Konica Minolta service team has also contributed to Goodcopy’s overall productivity improvement. The Konica Minolta team not only got the new systems up a running quickly, but has continued to service the hardware so that Goodcopy experiences drastically reduced downtime. The service team anticipates Goodcopy’s needs and potential issues, but also services the systems quickly when necessary so that no time or money is lost.

By adopting one of Konica Minolta’s next-generation digital presses and complementing the press with another monochrome production print system, Goodcopy has eliminated production bottlenecks, increased print volumes and improved overall output quality on client deliverables. Additionally, the faster speeds of the new solution offers enhanced turnaround times for the print house and an overall print volume increase of 30 percent.

Goodcopy now offers a broader portfolio of more cost-effective solutions to customers and also improve their bottom line.
