HP P4015 Common Issues

The following are two common technical support calls received for the HP P4015 Laserjet:

Issue 1:
Motor cycling on and off repeatedly when a print job is sent to the printer.

Solution:
This has been known to be a defective fuser. The printer does not (but should) display a 50 fuser error.

Issue 2:
The selection for "NEW MAINTENANCE KIT" is missing from the menu. (Menu is accessed by pressing and holding the OK button just after memory count begins until the three control panel lights remain solid and then releasing the OK button).

Solution:
The latest firmware update will add the selection to the menu. Without the update, the service mode can be accessed by scrolling through the printer menu and selecting "SERVICE" and then entering the appropriate pin number: 05401408, 05401508, 05451508.
