| Subject: Bizhub 600 C6708 code | ||||||||
Question: Does anyone know what a C-6708 code is? Answer: The C-6708* AGC code indicates an adjustment level abnormality. The potential causes of such a code are: o The light blocking cover at the read section and the lens cover are removed. o The connector of the CCD board (CCDB) is disconnected. o The power cable of the CCDB is unplugged. o The IC protector of the CCDB converter board is cut off. o The light volume of the exposure lamp is excessive. o The exposure lamp does not light up. Question: This is the first 600 I've worked on. Do you know the simulation to get into service mode? Answer: Does the exposure lamp come on and are the mirrors and lenses clean? The exposure lamp or CCD could be bad. Answer: C-6708 (C6708) code- probable causes and their solutions: 1. Failed lamp inverter board (Lamp Starter). Note: May also see intermittent black copies. Replace the lamp inverter board (p/n 57AA83510). 2. Loose or failed exposure lamp (L1). Reset(?) the L1 connector. If the problem persists, replace L1 (p/n 57AA 8301 0). Note: This may only occur in the morning. 3. Firmware update is required if the error is generated when ADF key is pressed in the Service Mode. Please update the machine firmware to version 31 or later. Answer: Meter details stop 00 stop 01 -this is repeated in the last answer in a clearer way… maybe delete? Answer: About a year and half ago I had 4 machines that had this code. I followed Konica Minolta and their support desk to no solution. KM took one back to study it and I put a scanner drive board (57AA-9091) in the other three and have not had this problem come back on them. Answer: Remember with most boards on this series if you install a brand new board, you will need to do firmware. If you use a used board you might be able to skip firmware depending on what version is on the copier and the new board. Some versions do not play nicely together. Question: Yes, the lamp is not coming on. How do I get into service mode? It seems to be different than other KM models I've worked on. Answer: Utility, meter details, stop, 0, 0, stop, 0, 1. |

| Subject: SMB SCANNING TO VISTA 64BIT | ||||||||
Question: I am trying to set up SMB scanning on a Ricoh MP5500 copier. The cust's computer is a vista 64 bit open system. I shut off firewalls and made a full share file in the public domain folder. (Example): \\computername\users\public\scanfolder. Then I put in the user's name and password on the copier. It won't connect! Is there anybody out there who has had any luck? Let me know. Thanks. Answer: I have a Vista SMB setup document that our Savin rep gave us last time he was in town. I could email that to you if you think it'll help. Answer: Have you tried looking here? http://www.ricoh-usa.com/support/knowledgebase.asp?tsn=Ricoh-USA. Look for things like scan to folder and white paper. Ricoh usually has very good write ups on how to get things done with their machines. As for scanning to Vista 64 bit, it does work. Make sure "File Sharing" is turned on under "Network and Sharing Center". Answer: It may have something to do with digital signing or packet fragmentation also. Answer: Those problems are usually found on servers, not Vista. Though it is possible, I doubt it. Admittedly, Vista can be a problem to set up because it has a few different places to turn on sharing. Just because the folder is shared with full change rights dos not mean sharing is turned on. You must go into "Network and Sharing Center" to turn on "File Sharing" and sometimes "Public File Sharing." Try putting the "Scan" folder at the root of the "C" drive. Sometimes if a sub-folder is shared, it does not mean that a MFP can see it because the parent folders are not shared. This is not always the case though. With the folder at the "root" of the drive it makes it a lot easier. Now once it scans to the folder at the root of the drive, then you can naturally change the path to where you want it since you know it can now scan to the PC. |

| Subject: Samsung CLX8380 Steps to Upgrade Firmware | ||||||||
Question: I need someone to walk me through upgrading the firmware. I just downloaded v2 80 onto the laptop. Thanks. I need to deliver this by tomorrow. Answer: You need the firmware and the "USB List" program. Just connect the laptop via USB to the device, drag the firmware file into the USB List icon and let it run. It will take about 15 minutes because it is actually updating 3 different sections of the firmware. You will now have a manual adjustment for each color in addition to auto. I spoke with Samsung regarding this firmware and you also will need the new version of Sync Thru software. This version will not work with the old. If it's an older machine, you should look at replacing the HV power supply. There is an updated version that really helps fill the solids and prevents contamination of the transfer belt. Hope this helps... Answer: Good description. Same as the 5530 firmware upgrade-easy and quick w/ the USB cord! |
