| Subject: Ricoh 1060 / SC542 | ||||||||
Question: The lamps on this machine are not warming up; the machine was having a SC542 error code. I have replaced all thermistors and thermostats and replaced the BCU board, but the lamps are still not working. Plus I started getting a SC547 code. I have also swapped out the power supply and checked the lamps; they’re good. I am stuck at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions? They are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Answer: Make sure there are no fuser wires shorting to the frame in the rear of the machine when the fuser is pushed in. I have also seen problems with the fuser connector itself. Answer: Check for a bent pin in fuser connections or the thermostat bracket screw arcing. Also check if there is a loose connector on CNB, behind the I/O board. Answer: I hate to state the obvious, but did you go into SP mode and rock the power switch? Answer: Back to the basics: is there juice to the power supply? Are you getting juice to the front side of fuser lamps? Next, check the connectors on the rear of the fuser, inside the machine, and at the back. Answer: You need to do an SC reset or the code will come up as soon as you switch on. Question: I have tried to reset. The fuser works; I tried it in another machine. It could be bent pins; I will try. Thanks. I will get back to all of you and let you know what I find. Question: It was paper wedged in the cn on the frame. Thanks for the help guys. |

| Subject: Konica Minolta workforce 8050 45-20 code | ||||||||
Question: I received a 45-20 error code. I replaced the wires and grids, tried running color registration, gamma, and all other CQ adjustments, checked the sensors, replaced the drums, ordered developers and will replace them. I hope it works. Anything else I should be looking for?? Any help or options left other than burning the copier would be appreciated. Thank you! Answer: Since you cleaned the color registration sensors, you can turn them off in the dip switches and the machine will work fine. Otherwise you will have to go through the process of replacing the sensors and boards which is expensive. I had this problem about a month ago. If you turn the sensors off, it works fine. You probably replaced a lot of parts for nothing unless they were due. Question: A lot of these parts were due, and I did turn the sensor off on 23-3 turned to 1 and it ran, but the next day the copier started to do the same thing (45-20). On Monday I will replace the developers since they have 104k on them and if it makes a difference, thank you!! Answer: I believe there is two dip switches to turn off. Question: I replaced all developers, ran the adj. and now the copier is running back to normal. Thank you! |

| Subject: Ricoh Aficio 3030 drum unit | ||||||||
Question: Does anyone have a good price on a used drum unit for the Ricoh 3030? I mistakenly bought a 2027 and it’s not the same. Thanks. Answer: The 2027 takes a 1027 PCU; this works in a 3030. It comes with developer preinstalled and works better than ordering a separate PCU and developer. Answer: Who wants to fit individual PCU parts? That makes it run like the crappy 15/18/16/20s. Answer: 1027 works in a 3030. Be sure to make sure that the drum count resets and set up the developer in 2801. Answer: Set PCU Detect SP2-804 to 0 when you use the 1027 PCU instead of the original one. Sometimes they still won’t reset - use SP2-801 to calibrate the developer and clear the PCU count if it doesn’t auto detect. |

| Subject: Sharp AL-1631 CH Code | ||||||||
Question: Could it be the door code, or cartridge code? Answer: Maybe the close door switch is damaged, or the door doesn’t push the switch. It could be that the actuator has broken. Test the switch with the door open, and actuate with a flat screwdriver. Answer: A CH code on any Sharp is always an open door code no matter how old the Sharp machine is. Check all door switches and actuators. |
